Chapter-14

It was early morning when they landed in, They both took a taxi and went to Tulip's house.
"So... everyone stays at your place?" he asked.
"The relatives who come from far off places stay at the house"
"So, were not going to have any privacy?"
She chuckled, "They stay in the basement which is not that much linked to the house, It has separate entrance and all... so, I guess we will..." she winked.
Alex sighed, "Thank God..." making Tulip laugh.

When they reached Tulip's house, they saw that everyone was rushing here and there.
"What is happening?" Alex asked.
"I think the preparations are going on"
"When is the event?"
"Its day after tomorrow"
"Oh... It thought it would be after a week at least. That's so soon, and you came today?"
"Yes, what would have been the of use coming earlier... everyone will be so busy in the event, we wont be able to spend time with anyone till the event is over. So, I thought that I will go one or two days prior, so that I can spend some time with mom and Lavender".
"Oh...I see.... that's good, I agree with you"
"Mom...Lavender...Where are you all?" tulip called as they went inside the house.
"Oh! Tulip..." Lavender, Tulip's sister came running in the living room. She hugged Tulip tightly, "Oh....Tulip, you are here... I am so happy to see you... I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too..." Tulip said hugging her tightly.
"Who is this?" Lavender said pointing towards Alex.
"Who do you think he is?" Tulip smiled.
Suddenly a voice came from behind,
"Tulip, my dear, my doll you are finally here..." it was Tulip's mother.
"Mom..." Tulip shouted excitedly and hugged her mother tightly.
"Mom...I missed you so much. I am sorry for being late".
"Oh! no problem, my doll... at least you're here...".
"Who is this?" her mother also asked the same question pointing towards Alex.
"Oh yeah! mom, Lavender, this is Alex, my...".
"Your fiancé... right Tulip?" Lavender asked.
"Yes, you guessed it right"
"Yeah, I knew it! I can never expect from you that you will bring a handsome guy from London and say that he is your friend whom you have brought for me... to marry him" she joked and looked at Alex.
Both Alex and Tulip started laughing,
"Wow...I never knew that foreigners also understand the jokes of Indians" Tulip's mom said laughing.
"Of course, I know that Indians crack jokes but... Tulip does not do that" he said laughing.
"Yes, she is really boring" said Lavender.
Tulip stared at her.
"No, I find her cute this way" Alex said making
Tulip blush.
"Hmm...I can see that you two have really good chemistry" said Lavender.
"Of course we do... right Alex?" she asked.
"Hmm...its weird how we are really a good match and I did a lot of struggle to achieve that..." he smiled.
"Yeah, I rejected him many times" said Tulip laughing.
"Really... You rejected him?" Lavender asked surprisingly.
"Of course... rejection is very important for this good chemistry... am I right Alex?" asked Tulip.
"You are always right madam Tulip.... You always being right.... actually attracts me" Alex smied.
"How can you reject such a handsome guy... Tulip?" Lavender said complaining.
Tulip rolled her eyes and Alex laughed.

After some time, Alex, Tulip, Tulip's mom and Lavender were sitting in Lavender's bedroom,
"So Tulip, what are you wearing?" she asked.
"I..I...Uh..."
"She has not decided yet" replied Alex.
"Shh..." Tulip said trying to make Alex quite.
"Really!? Lavender exclaimed.
"Why are you shouting?" Tulip nervously.
"The event is day after tomorrow... and you have not yet decided the dress you are wearing?" Lavender asked with widened eyes.
"Okay okay, I will go to shopping" said Tulip.
"I will also go with you, I will buy you a dress" said Alex.
"Go today!" Lavender ordered.
"No... not today... we're tired..." Tulip said yawning.
"No!.. you will go today... infact, now!" Lavender ordered.
"Okay... I will take her..." Alex said smiling.

After about two hours, they both were roaming in one of the shopping malls of New Delhi.
They went into a showroom which looked pretty good and expensive from outside.
They both looked at the dresses, There were many but Tulip couldn't find anything which was both appropriate and less expensive. Alex brought a beautiful yellow and golden dress.
"Try this one" he said.
"But...this is very expensive. It costs 8000 rupees!" she exclaimed.
"Oh! That's not a problem. You just go and try it"
Tulip tried it, It was a beautiful western dress with an off shoulder top and deep neck. When Tulip came out, she was totally confused.
"Wow!" Alex said.
Tulip quickly kept both her hands in the front hiding the deep neck of the dress,
"No....this is not good!" She said making a face.
"But why?"
"Because this has very deep neck, I cannot wear this in my family get together"
Then they again started searching for another dress. This time, again Alex brought a beautiful pink dress, it was a more descent and beautiful dress. Tulip went to try it, and when she came out, even she was very happy after looking at the fitting and look of the dress.
"WOW... this one's good, Lets buy it" he said.
"Yeah... this is good. But lets look at the price first" she said.
"No, there is no need to look at the price" he said.
"But why?"
"Because I told you not to...now just go and change" he said.
Tulip went in the trial room and changed. When she removed the dress, she checked the price tag. It showed rupees 25,000. She almost dropped the dress in astonishment totally, she ran outside the changing room to stop Alex from buying the dress, But till the time she reached outside, he had already paid it.
"What are you doing, Alex?" she asked.
"What happened?" he asked.
"You already paid for it? Refund it right now!"
"But what happened, is there any problem in the dress?"
"Ma'am, if there is any problem with the dress, we will fix it" the salesperson said nervously.
"No....its... it's very....expensive!"
Alex smiled and took the shopping bag from the salesperson's hand,
"Thank you..." he said and pulled Tulip outside the store, "Let's go" He said.
"What are you..." said Tulip.
"Lets go... Tulip" he said.
After they went out of the store, Tulip held Alex's hand and pulled him.
"What?" he asked.
"The dress is so expensive.... why did you buy it?" she asked.
"Oh...its not expensive, Its just 300 pounds and plus you looked... extraordinarily perfect in it, I couldn't resist myslef from buying it" he smiled.
"Is 300 pounds a less amount?"
"Ofcourse... three pounds is... nothing..." he shrugged his shoulders. Tulip rolled her eyes,
"But... it's not a less amount"
"I told you... you looked extraordinarily alluring in it, and cannot sacrifice that beauty fir even three thousand pounds... these are just three hundred..."
Tulip blushed, but restrained herself from showing it,
"Now come on! Let's go..." he said pulling her
