Asher Mackenzie
┕━━━━━━━━┙― ASHER MACKENZIE WASN'T THE most popular boy and with a name like Ashley, it wasn't hard to imagine why. He had a few good friends and he loved them with all of his heart. But he didn't think they understood him, not really. They didn't understand why he spent all of his time reading comics about superheroes and people who didn't exist. They didn't understand why he snuck into the back of the comic book store just around the corner to read stories that he couldn't afford to buy.
His life at home wasn't the happiest. He had a father and a mother and a sister that he adored. From the outside, they seemed like a prefect happy little family. But Asher felt like he was constantly hiding a side of himself from them. At home, he was the happy go-lucky boy who was happy to spend the night babysitting his little sister whenever his mother was working late and his father was doing God-knows-what. His parents fought, constantly. It seemed like they couldn't even get through one dinner without his father complaining that the food didn't have enough salt and his mother retorting that if he took them out to dinner for once, then he wouldn't have to worry about salt. Asher remembered a time that his parents were so in love and they'd do anything to make each other happy but those days were gone and he couldn't even recognize the people who argued at night, when they thought he was asleep.
Asher hadn't been able to go to sleep in a while, not that anybody else noticed. So every night, once the arguing and the yelling started, he left out the back and went to the comic book store. The old lady who owned the place liked him and she always left the key in a secret hole in the wall, so he wasn't technically breaking in. There, he'd lose himself in the wonderful world of people who were much better than he would ever be and pretend that he was alright. It became a routine for him and soon, he knew it like the palm of his hand. It was his solace, his happy place - so to speak - until the day that he entered the store to find Flash Thompson sitting in the corner, his face stricken with tears.
He was no good at comforting people so he simply sat next to him, in silence, too afraid to say anything. It was the same thing the next few weeks. The two boys hardly said a word until one day, they found themselves in a heated argument over the superior hero; Batman or Superman - obviously it was Batman, Clark Kent had all those powers and Bruce Wayne was still kicking ass. Their friendship evolved from there. What had once been awkward silences blossomed into intimate conversations and sharing of secrets. And before they could do anything about it, the two boys found themselves falling head over into a love that would either heal or break them.
— ⎰ NOTES.⎱
― This isn't anything special but I've fallen in love with Flash Thompson and he deserves the world. Flash is not a monster, not in the MCU at least and the comics counterpart, he goes through a lot. spiderlad has the best portrayal of him in her story, Lonely Hearts. Either, he deserves a cute boyfriend.Do not change Asher's name. It's something that he is insecure about but his mom thought Ashley was a cute boy name and I do too. He's gay and he keeps it from his family, not just because he's afraid of their reaction but he's afraid that they'll see him as different. He deserves the world as well. He loves his sister and his parents so much. His parents have problems in their marriage. In the end, they should get a divorce. You could make it that either one of them is cheating or that they just fell out of love, because that happens. If you go with the second option, it should be a pretty chill divorce. No hard feelings or anything because they both know that they are better off that way.
Flash has a difficult home situation and if you do your research, you know that it has to do with abuse and he sees Asher sneaking into the store one night and the next day, sneaks in himself. This isn't love at first sight and it should be hella slow burn but they should get together eventually. When they start to fall and become friends, at first, Flash should ignore him at school but eventually, they'll be open with their friendship. Also Asher's friends do love and care about him but they just don't always fully understand him.
Also, please try to keep the faceclaim. He has a lot of gif icons, I'm not sure about hunts, though.
