The Girl Who Fell From The Moon | Maze Runner

Chapter XI

Cassandra's POV

My boots crunched under the plush, cream-colored snow as I lowered myself from the airplane. I breathed in the cold air that was scented with the smell of a forest. Even though it's only been three months since I've been here, it's changed so much. It went from fallen and stained leaves littering the ground to hills of endless white.

"Cassandra" an agent walked up to me and bowed his head. I looked down the runway to the building and saw lines of security employees. After all this time, and I still couldn't get used to them.

In another life, I would have told the agent that there was no need to be so formal but instead I shoved my belongings into his hands and confidently walked to the building.

"Cass!" Andromeda shrieked as she bolted towards me dropping everything in her hands.

"Aurora!" I squealed as we both crashed into each other hugging.

"What? No hug for me?" Leo chuckled as he appeared from behind Aurora. I yelled his name as I sprinted into his outstretched arms. As I ran into him, he lifted me off the ground and twirled me into the air causing me to erupt in giggles.

"I hate to interrupt this reunion and I also hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Ava insists that we train right now" A familiar face, Alex, leaning on the door frame came into view. Anyone could see the obvious disappointment bleed onto all four of our faces but we all knew there was no use arguing with Chancellor so we began to walk to the training room. As we strolled down the hall, Alex gave me a hug from the side and we began to talk.

"How's location 8F going? Is everyone there alright?" Alex genuinely worried.

"Yes, of course. Everything is the same. Lis misses you but she's doing just fine if that is what you are wondering about"

"I miss her so much did she say anything to you about me?"

"Nope. Just the usual about how much she loves you."

Eventually, we arrived into the training area and were met with a very unpleasant surprise.

"Chancellor" we the four of us greeted her while bowing our heads. All of us exchanged glances because now we had to push ourselves to our breaking point because Ava is here.

"There's no need for that my pearls. Now, let's continue the B89YT, shall we?" She gestured towards our training arena.

"Let's get our shit on" Leo grumbled as we all began our training.

I stood above Aurora heavily panting with sweat dripping into my eyes and covering most of my vision. I had a deep gash in my exposed stomach that was oozing blood and I was covered in countless scratches and bruises. Aurora was on the ground, coughing up blood unable to get up. Her uniform was torn to reveal numerous injuries.

"Get up Andromeda! You still have one more teaspoon of blood left until you can be dismissed." Ava yelled from her seat. I could feel my blood boiling as I stood in my position watching her. Aurora and I were both so close to passing out and she was sitting there eating and watching us, screaming that Aurora still had to lose one more teaspoon of blood before we could leave.

Abruptly, an idea hit me and before I realized what I was doing, it was already done. I pulled my knife out and ran it down my skin, causing me to bleed. Everyone that was watching us gasped in surprise as Ava furiously stood up from her chair.

The Chancellor began to scream orders, "Stop! Stop right this instant! This is unacceptable and will not happen again! I will not tolerate this behavior. You are dismissed."

"Oh, my gosh, the lighting here is soo good. Just remember to take a bunch angles" Aurora gushed as she handed Leo her phone before posing with me for the photo.

"Okay, on the count of three, look cute!" Alex mimicked my voice as he took pictures with my phone. Leo and Alex began howling as they took our photos.

"Stop that. I need something new to post and this background is so aesthetic" I scolded both of them as Alex handed me my phone back.

"Oh look at this one! This is so perfect, I'm totally posting this one" Aurora remarked as soon as she saw the photo.

"Yes, yes, yes! Let's all take one together" I offered as Leo held up his phone and we all made faces.

"Haha, I love you guys so much" I sighed as I saw the photo with pure, genuine love pouring out of me.

"We love you too Cass. With all of our hearts," Leo said as he hugged me, enveloping me in his arms.

"Group hug!" Alex yelled as we all huddled together. At that moment, with their arms around me, I felt like I was home again.

I realize that today's chapter was a little bit short, but this time I actually did that on purpose (sorry). But, I promise that the next one will be longer than usual so hopefully that will make up for it. 

Anyways,  I don't really have any exciting information to say or anything and I think that's all so...
