Ben's POV
Speakers situated around the room that I hadn't noticed before began booming with noise. Abruptly, the screen flickered to display another all-white room, but in the back was a huge window depicting mounds of frozen hills. Snow. That's what snow looks like. The camera was resting on top of a table with an empty seat around it, the whole frame reminded me of when the police interrogate potential suspects of a severe crime, but I couldn't remember why I knew that.
Swiftly, sounds of feet scraping the floor filled the room and a girl sat on the chair in front of the camera. She had violet eyes and was dressed in very expensive looking clothes. I could recognize her anywhere. Cassidy.
"Subject B3. Cassandra. Is there anything that you would like to say before we begin?" A voice behind the camera spoke that sounded very kind and gentle.
"No, but thanks for asking" Cassidy replied.
Subject B3. Day 15.
Cassidy was stuffing books from her backpack into her locker.
"Cass! Come right now! I think that Leo is gonna ask you to prom! AHHH!" A girl ran up to Cassidy and began squealing.
Cassidy let out a couple of high-pitched screams as well as they both ran down the halls, the sound of their clicking heels slowly fading away.
Subject B3. Day 18.
A very sturdily built male got out of a limo and reached his hand to help Cassidy out as well. Both of them were dressed very formally and were glowing with happiness. As they walked into the building, Cassidy leaned into his figure and he wrapped an arm around her, kissing the top of her forehead.
Subject B3. Day 38.
Paper airplanes and scrunched up pieces of binder paper were being hurled around the classroom as the teacher turned her back to the students to explain something on the whiteboard. Cassidy was sitting in the back of the classroom along with the two other people I had seen in the previous clips.
"Ms. Kassandra, would you care to inform about what you have been whispering to Ms. Lise for the past few minutes of my lecture?" The teacher at the front of the board turned around and began to glare at Cassidy who was leaning towards a girl sitting next to her. The girl had a name tag on her desk with the name "Lise Meitner" while Cassidy's name tag on had the name "Kassandra".
Slowly, a smirk oozed onto Cassidy's face as she commented, "No, that's why I whispered it".
The screen continued to flash through snapshots and videos of Cassidy's life before the Maze. There were a lot of videos of her going to photo shoots and pictures of magazine covers featuring her. As the memories got more and more personal, I saw Minho's normally stoic expression falter as he saw Cassidy's life play out without him.
Subject B3. Day 100.
Phase 1. Section 1.
---
Same room, same walls, same people slowly going insane. The last interesting thing that happened was the flashes of Cassidy's life and afterward, nothing. All we were left with was a burning desire to figure out what was going on and where we were. No food, no water, trapped in an obnoxiously bright room that had no respect for privacy for any of us.
"What is a frog? Does anyone remember that or is it just me?" Jeff asked for the fifth time while absentmindedly staring at the ceiling. I was willing to bet that all the Gladers had already counted the number of tiles on the ceiling enough times to be able to give anyone a definite answer on how many tiles littered the ugly roof. As soon as I reached the 200's, the white walls that I had been looking at for the past day turned into glass.
"What the shuck?" I yelled as the walls once again surprised us. This time, however, it was apparent that the walls were not showing a video, but rather, they just randomly turned into glass.
All the Gladers quickly jumped up and became alert. Since you could now see through the walls, everyone began turning in circles to assess their now changed surroundings. The wall that contained the door revealed an empty corridor that seemed endless. The rest of the walls displayed various rooms that were situated next to ours, all of them empty and identical to ours. Suddenly, the door opening to the room towards my left swung open.
"I still think the answer to number 5 was 9.83 because you needed to calculate the cosine of the angle" A girl walked in while talking to someone else. I recognized her from the video we saw earlier. From what I observed from the flashbacks was that her name was Lise and she was dating another guy named Alexander.
"Why do you all keep getting answers like 9 or 10 or something like that? My answer was 867!" The person who walked through the door next shocked us all. It was Cassidy.
She looked the same, in the Glade she always suffered from a lack of self-esteem so she would always request makeup and clothes from the Creators. The only difference now was that she looked happier.
"Cassidy! Cassandra!" Minho began pounding on the window in efforts to make her see him. Of course, she didn't hear him as she continued to throw her hands up in exasperation and complain.
"Cassidy! Over here!" Newt and a handful of other Gladers started banging on the glass to help Minho gain her attention. Finally, after enough Gladers joined, Cassidy heard us.
"Omy gosh, who are they? Are those the kids from Maze A?" Lise looked at us with complete shock.
Cassidy whipped her head around, but as soon as she saw us, her face showed no sign of recognition, instead, her expression mirrored Lise's.
"I'm calling control right now. I didn't know that they completed the Maze. Now that they are loose, our safety is not guaranteed" Cassidy rushed over to the other side of the room and grabbed a phone. But the only thing that the Gladers could think about was the look of pure horror and fear plastered all over her face. Cassidy, one of my best friends didn't remember me. She didn't remember anyone.

So, I'm still being a really bad person and I didn't publish yesterday which was actually a really stupid mistake because I finished writing the chapter. Anyways, I had midterms this week so I couldn't publish on Tuesday, and I'm so sorry. I feel like I always do this but anyways...
I'm also planning on starting another story but I'm not sure if I want to do it. But if I do, I'll make sure to tell you guys. Regardless I love you so much and I promise to publish another chapter next Friday or even Tuesday.
