As I was sitting on the sofa, reading to relax a little, I heard the doorbell ring. I wasn't expecting anyone. Kaya was in her room and Harry was at his own house currently.
I walked to the door and as I opened it, my mother's face appeared in front of my eyes.
"Hello," she greeted me, giving me a weak smile.
"Hi," I said less confident than I had planned in the first place. I didn't know what she wanted, nor did I even want to talk to her. Before I could talk, my mother cut me off.
"Look, you don't have to say anything, Scarlett. I came to apologize to you," she explained, smiling sadly. "What I pulled off at dinner was unbelievably disrespectful. All those years, I just wanted you to understand me, but I never saw your side of the story. Now I did. When I was being rude to you, I didn't understand it yet, but I know now that you deserved none of what I said to you. I love you, you'll always be my daughter. But I haven't been the mother you deserve, Scarlett. I wish I could've been the parent you deserve, but I wasn't capable. I don't have the right to judge your decisions, nor your life. No more interference."
"Thank you," I said with a lump in my throat. "I'm sorry for running without a word. I was just upset."
"I understand," she said. "Your boyfriend talked to us after you left. Everything I said about him was wrong. He's very nice. I hope you'll stay together."
"Yeah, me too," I said, smiling at the thought of him.
"Maybe one day we can start over. We can try to get along," she suggested, flashing me a hopeful look.
"One day, yes. But not right now. I'm not ready," I told her. "Not yet."
She nodded sadly. "Take your time, Scarlett."
She pulled a folded paper out of her pocket, handing it to me. "My number and address. If you want to talk, call me. If you need help, you call me."
"Thank you," I said and truly, I was thankful. After my mother left, my mind ran wild. Was it wrong to push her out of my life right now? I didn't have a family. I wanted my father out of my life and now I had pushed my mother out of my world. It felt as though everything was falling apart. I had lost everything and everyone. I needed something constant. Someone who would stay for me.
I needed Harry to be that someone, but was he really?
The thoughts couldn't stop running like water down a river, so I left the house and got in my car to drive. It was already late, but I didn't care. I knew he was awake.
The cold air coming in through the widows hit my face which was burning hot from the tears that were streaming from my eyes. The only thing I heard was a Taylor Swift song on the radio. Everything else was quiet, when I stopped in front of his house. I had never been inside, but it was huge.
I rang the doorbell and stood in front of the gate. The lights were still on, I noticed before I heard his voice through the speaker.
"Hello?"
"It's me," I said, my voice breaking.
"Scar?" He said, before a buzzing noise filled the air and the gate opened. I walked towards the front door, which opened shortly after.
Harry looked at me confused, but his face softened when he saw that I was crying. "Why are you crying?"
I didn't answer, instead I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his chest while he tried to soothe me. "What's wrong, love?"
I pulled away from him and looked him in the eyes. "I love you, Harry."
"And I love you, but that's not a reason to cry," he said with a chuckle.
"I just love you so much," I said, wiping the tears. "I can't lose you. Screw my parents, screw everything I lost, but I just can't lose you!"
"You won't," Harry said, cupping my face with his hands.
"I just need to know if you see a future for us!"
"Scar, you are my future. You are all I want. I promise you forever. I will always love you. I could never stop," he whispered. "I want to marry you and I want you to have my children. I want barbecue sundays with the boys and you. That's all I need. You don't need your parents, because you have a family, Scar. You are never alone."Sorry I took so long, babys. Until the next chapter ❤❤
