My day went over pretty fast. After getting some coffee with Nate, I went back home. The sun was still out and I didn't expect my dad confronting me then. There were too many people around that would've noticed. I still didn't know how to handle the situation, really. Maybe calling the police would've been the solution. But what should I have told them? My dad hit me, but I don't know where he is right now? Maybe he wouldn't confront me again.
Kaya was already there when I got home. We decided to watch one of our favorite shows The Vampire Diaries since none of us had lectures that day.
A few days later, my bruises felt even worse, I didn't even know why. Kaya was out on a date, when suddenly the doorbell rang. Kaya shouldn't have been back yet. I put the chain on and opened the door.
"Harry?" I said and opened the door completely. "What are you doing here?"
To be honest, I was damn happy to see him. I smiled widely, as he pulled me into a hug.
"Well, I have two days off and I missed you," he said and winked.
"Come on in," I invited him inside the flat and as soon as I had closed the door, his lips collided with mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me.We were lying on my bed as Harry told me about their tour.
"It's been incredible so far, the fans are great and the show was so much fun."
"Lucky you," I exclaimed. "I wanna go travel the world, but I spend my entire life studying."
"Well, how about a 2-day-break from studying?" He suggested. I grinned in kissed his soft lips. He pulled me closer, and I noticed just then how much I had missed him.
I winced in pain as Harry touched one of my bruises which I was hiding under my black sweater. "You okay?"
He was giving me a questioning look, before sitting up on the bed. I did the same, as he suddenly rolled up my sweater, revealing the black and blue bruises on my arms.
"Kaya texted me," he admitted. "She got my number from your phone and texted me about bruises you have. She thought I did that to you, so I thought I'd visit."
"It's nothing," I said and shrugged, but tears were forming in my eyes.
"You're a terrible liar," my boyfriend said, wrapping his arms around me. "Who did that to you?"
"I really don't wanna talk about-"
"Scar," he interrupted me. "Who was it?"
"My father," I mumbled. Harry gave me a shocked look.
"How did he find you?"
"I don't know," I replied, burying my face in my hands. "He just did. That one night after college, it was getting dark and I took a shortcut and he... let's say he hasn't changed at all."
"Where else did he hit you?" He asked, a little anger to be heard in his voice.
"My stomach. That's it," I said.
"Is it bad? A punch in the stomach could be dangerous, Scar."
I pulled my sweater up, so the massive bruise on my stomach was visible.
Harry looked shocked, tears in his eyes.
"I'm sorry," he said. "Scar, that's really bad, maybe you should go to the hospital."
"I'm fine," I lied. I was in intense pain.
"Did you call the police?" He asked. I shook my head.
"That would only make it worse."
"So what?" He replied angrily. "What do you want to do? Wait until he punches you again?"
"I don't know what I should do," I answered.
"You should contact the police," Harry stated.
"For what? They're gonna ask me where my father lives or anything like that. And I don't have an answer. Besides, there's more important things for the police to do than protect a daughter from her father."
I started crying again. Harry leaned back and opened his arms. Smiling, I put my head on his chest and enjoyed his presence.
"When did it happen?" He asked me.
"The night I hung up on you. When I told you I met a friend, I lied."
"Why'd you lie to me?"
"I didn't want you to worry about me," I admitted.
"Scar, if there's anything wrong, you tell me. I am your boyfriend and if you have problems, I wanna know that, so I can help you, alright?"
He kissed my forehead, making me smile.
"Okay," I replied.
