"I can't believe this is happening," I told Kaya. Both of us had applied for a job at Vogue. We got accepted, but Kaya had to move to the US while I could stay here. Although it meant a lot of changes, it was a big chance for both of us.
"I know," she replied, eyeing our empty appartment. "Did you find a new place yet?"
"Nope, I'll be sleeping at Harry's until I do."
Kaya took a look at her watch and sighed. "It's about time I get going."
"I'm going to miss you," I told her, trying to hold back tears. This seemed like the ending of an era.
"Me too," she said, embracing me tightly, as I heard her sob quietly.
I wrapped my arms closer around my best friend, letting the tears flow. "Don't you dare forget about me."
"Never," she whispered, as her phone buzzed. She let go of me and checked the message. "I should get going. My ride will be outside any minute."

"What are you doing?" Harry asked me, as he sat down next to me.
I was sitting at his dining table, looking for a possible flat on my laptop. "Looking for a new place."
"Are you kidding me?"
"Hm?"
I looked at him, his facial expression shocked.
"What?" I asked.
"You're looking for a new place?"
"That's what I just said, isn't it?" I asked him.
"Move in with me!" He exclaimed.
"Wait, are you serious?"
"Of course I am," Harry said with a smile. "I love you and you spend a lot of time here anyways."
"I wouldn't want to bother you," I told him.
"If you were bothering me, you wouldn't be here, right?"
"Right," I answered. He smiled at me, showing his white teeth, his dimples appearing on his cheeks.
"I can't wait to live with you," I said.
"Yeah, me neither. I mean, this was bound to happen anyways," he told me.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked him hesitantly.
"I love you and one day, I'm going to marry you and live in a big house with you with at least two kids and maybe we could get a cat."
"I'm more of a dog person," I told him with a smile. "But everything else you said sounds very promising. I love you."
"I know," he said with a grin. "Now close that laptop, we're watching a movie."
"Sounds good," I said, following him to the living room, before throwing myself onto his sofa.
"I'll go make some tea," he exclaimed, after kissing my forehead, making me giggle.
