It was back at the bunker that Dean finally broke down. "Where were you?" he managed. He didn't want to cry in front of Gabriel, so he held his tears back. "Where the fuck did you go?"
"Dean. I had to leave, I could not risk my brethren finding you or our children," he replied calmly, and Dean exploded.
"I would have protected you!" he yelled. "I would have fought all of the angels to make sure you and these kids were safe!"

It was as if he had forgotten that Sam and Gabriel were still there. "You can't just-" his face dropped suddenly, realisation spreading across his features. "Cas if you don't want them- If you don't want me. You should have just told me. I won't force you into their lives". He wasn't yelling anymore. He sounded defeated.
"Dean Henry Winchester!" Cas shouted. "Don't you ever assume that I do not want these fledglings. Do not ever assume that I do not want you". He lifted one hand and placed it over his stomach, and cupped his cheek with the other. "You know that I love you, and these pups," he whispered. Dean couldn't remember anything but the colour of Castiel's eyes. They didn't say anything for awhile.

Somebody cleared their throat, and they jumped. "Should I go?" Sam said, and Dean looked at him. "Sorry, it's just that you guys are getting pretty personal and it seems like me being here is sorta spoiling it," he tried to explain and Gabriel laughed.
"Looks like you just spoiled it, Sasquatch," he said, with a pointed smile at Castiel's irritated look. "Anyways. Speaking of protecting people, I have a proposition," Gabriel began, and Dean narrowed his eyes. Cas dropped his hands, and turned to look at them.

"What?" Dean asked, holding onto Castiel's hand. He didn't want to let him go.
"Remember how I mentioned those cosmic arch-angelic powers? Well. There's a reason our wacko brothers and sisters haven't found me all these years, Cassie".
"You have cloaked yourself," the angel supplied, and Sam lit up.
"You can do the same for Cas!" he grinned.
"No," Dean said immediately, and all eyes were on him.

"Why, pray tell?" Gabriel asked, and Dean glared at him.
"One: We don't know for sure that it will work. And two: I don't trust you," he deadpanned, and the archangel rolled his eyes.
"Could you quit being emotional for five seconds?" Gabriel said, and Dean looked like he was ready to fight.
"Dean," Cas said, and stepped into his line of view. "We need to try".
"You're going to vouch for him?"
"I'm going to take any chance I can to look after you during this pregnancy, and be in our children's lives," Castiel corrected. Dean visibly conceded.

"Fine. What do we do?" he asked Gabriel. The archangel smirked, and unwrapped some candy.
"All you gotta do is lay off the mood swings," he laughed and Dean clenched his fist, "I'll take care of the rest".
