Cas was holding his hand.

They were sitting on a two person lounge, side by side, and Cas was holding his hand. They were squeezed in together, Dean only just fitting beside Castiel, and looking up at Sam. Cas was looking at Dean's knee, because he didn't want to look him in the face. His thumb was stroking his knuckles, doing anything he can to calm him.

Dean heard his voice in his head, Be calm, beloved. "Cas says there was... an angel there," Sam began, "There was an angel at the hunt, as well as a demon, and the ghost". Dean took a breath, and let it out.
"Which one?" he asked Sam, and Cas answered.
"I don't know. But I'll- we'll- find out," he assured him, with a glance at Sam. Sam smiled, and gave a nod.
"We went to Crowley, he's sorting out the demon," Sam kept talking. He kept talking.

And Cas was holding his hand.

"I don't like working with him, either, but he's got the same goal as us".
Their hands were joined together, between their touching thighs, just slightly out of sight. Everyone in the room knew that it was happening, but nobody said anything. Cas' fingers was thinner than his, but they were also longer.
"He wants to remain in charge of Hell, so he needs to get rid of any rouges," Sam continued. Dean's fingertips only just cleared Castiel's last knuckle. He knew that the body wasn't Cas', originally, but had belonged to Jimmy. But now, ever since Castiel's run in with Raphael and his resulting resurrection, the body belonged to him now.

When Cas was brought back, James Novak stayed in Heaven - with his wife.

"So he'll get rid of the demon, and he get the name of the ghost out of it," he was still talking.
Before they had gotten together, Dean knew he couldn't keep Cas. He didn't know that Jimmy was in Heaven, and he wanted his body to be returned to him when the Apocalypse was over. Dean held back. He pulled away from Cas, because it wasn't fair to Jimmy. It had taken awhile for Dean to come to terms with the fact that Jimmy was gone. Another name added to his long list of guilt. He wondered how many souls he'd have to face someday, when he finally died for good. But, for now, Cas was there. With him. And now Dean had Cas, to keep.

Dean held his hand tighter.

"Dean," Castiel's voice interrupted Sam. "Even if I abandoned this vessel today, I would still guard you in my true form," he said, looking him in the eye. Dean blinked.
"What?" Dean said, confused. Sam swallowed, nervous.
"Even if this vessel did not belong to me, I would guard you in my true form until I could find another," he assured him, and Dean went red.
"You been looking in my head?" he frowned, and Cas looked away shamefully.
"Not intentionally," he said.

"I'm gonna..." Sam trailed, "... Yeah". He turned, and walked out of the room quickly.

"Dean, this body was made for you," Cas said, still looking down. "When I was resurrected in that graveyard, James Novak stayed in Heaven. This body was recreated only to house my form, and to be synced with your own". Dean kissed him, to stop him talking. He didn't think he could handle any more without crying. It wasn't him, the crying, it wasn't him. It was the hormones.

He kept kissing him, and ignored the wetness on his cheeks. Cas ran a hand down his back, and over to rest on his stomach. He felt a kick on his hand. Cas drew back, instantly, and sat at the edge of the lounge. He was terrified. "Cas, it's fine!" Dean said desperately, "They do that all the time, now," he tried to kiss him again, but Cas moved.
"Dean, they kicked me! I was obviously hurting them somehow," he said, and placed two hands on Dean's stomach.
"Don't be such a baby, they're fine!"

"Gabriel!" Cas called out, and the archangel appeared. A lollipop was already in his mouth.
"What now?" he asked. He fiend annoyance, but you could see an underlying sense of worry there. If you looked carefully. Carefully.
"I need to ask you something about Dean, since somebody..." he glanced at Dean, "...has stolen the book you gave me".
"Fire away," Gabriel smirked, "What do you wanna know?"

Cas looked at Dean again, whose eyes widened. No, he mouthed.
"Is it safe for Dean and I to engage in intercourse at this stage in the pregnancy?" he asked seriously, and Dean closed his eyes in shame. Gabriel winced, then put a hand on his shoulder.
"Sorry, kid. As a doctor," Dean snorted. Gabriel glared at him. "As a doctor, I wouldn't recommend it. Because of the crash, you're at risk for a miscarriage. And because you're having twins, I wouldn't recommend it either". Castiel looked disappointed.

"Hey!" Gabriel laughed, "I said 'no intercourse', but everything else is fair game".
"What do you mean?" Cas asked, and Dean's eyes widened.
"Well, there's ora-" he began, and Dean interrupted him.
"Okay! That's enough! We get it, Gabriel, you can poof now," he smiled awkwardly, and Gabriel smirked.
"I'm not the one who's poofing here," he said, and Dean rolled his eyes.
"That was lame," he said, and Gabriel shrugged - vanishing.
