Chapter 9: Mistakes Part 2

It was cloudy that day, as if it was going to rain... but the clouds were holding back, as if they were waiting for a moment to let down all the tears of God ....for fate was sealed with our two heroes. As soon as Adrien agreed to help Hawkmoth get the earrings, Marinette's fate was sealed and so was his. Plagg's mind was absolutely broken. He didn't know where he was going, he just knew he had to tell Marinette. He finally found the bakery after a while of aimless wandering and he apparated through the window in Marinette's room and dropped to the floor. Tikki was the first to notice his presence and rushed over to him.

"Plagg! Are you ok!? What happened?" Tikki asked as she examined Plagg, he had electric burns all over his body and half of his face was terribly bruised, "These wounds.... Who did this to you!?"

"Tikki..." Plagg asked weakly, attempted to stand but he slumped back to the ground with Tikki catching him and bringing him up to Marinette's table, "Where's... Marinette?"

"She's downstairs.... But what happened?" Tikki asked as she got an ice pack and started to attempt to ice his wounds. Plagg kept trying to sit up but it was impossible in his condition.

"It's something... both you and Marinette should hear," Plagg whispered as he winced from the mixture of cold and stings from Tikki's nursing. Just as he said that, the trapdoor opened again and Marinette came through the door. When Marinette saw the pair on the table, she dropped her clothing supplies and rushed over to them.

"Oh my god! Tikki who is this!" Marinette exclaimed as she got a towel and eased down the bruising on Plagg's face. She turned to Tikki who had a grim look on her face.

"This is Plagg, Chat Noir's kwami," Tikki explained as Marinette's eyes widened as wide as dinner plates. Marinette looked at Plagg with one question in mind: What happened?

"Who did this to you? Was it Chat?" Marinette as the swelling on Plagg's face went down and he could speak normally again.

"No, it wasn't... but Marinette please, you have to help him, he's..." Plagg pleaded with Marinette but he faltered because he couldn't even say what he wanted to say.

"What happened to Chat?" Marinette asked, almost afraid of hearing the answer, "Is he in trouble?"

"Yes... in a way... he is.... Marinette... Chat discovered the true identity of Hawkmoth," Plagg started to explain, making Marinette recoil in shock. Tikki gasped as she now had an idea of what happened.

"He... did...? Well... who is he?" Marinette asked as Plagg regained his strength and floated so he was eye level with her.

"Hawkmoth is.... Chat's father," Plagg earning a huge gasp from Marinette. Marinette put her hand over her mouth to avoid another scream that may escape her mouth.

"No way.... So what is Chat going to do?" Marinette asked in worry as Plagg started avoiding eye contact with Marinette, "Plagg..." Marinette said sternly but Plagg turned away from Marinette.

"Don't rush me! He's... how can I put this... Marinette... he's fallen.... " Plagg sighed as he landed back on the table, as Marinette gasped, tripped on her back feet and fell back into her chair.

"W-w-what?! But... does that mean! He's..... On.... Hawkmoth's side? That's impossible! He'd never do that! Chat's... he's stronger than that! He couldn't! He wouldn't..." Marinette tried to deny it, but she knew somewhere in her heart that Plagg wasn't lying, "Chat.... No....."

"Marinette, I'm asking you from the bottom of my heart, please save him..." Plagg pleaded with Marinette, Tikki looked at Plagg sadly as it broke her heart to see him in such a sorry state. Marinette then took a deep breath in and out.
