Marinette's POV
"Where am I?"
"That's right... I'm dead..."
"I remember everything until that point..."
"Hmmm... It seems I have no more final strategy... no cards left to play... I have failed... I can't feel pain... nor light... nor darkness... nor healing... I feel nothing.... Absolutely nothing..."
"Are you sure about that? Are you really dead?"
"LE GASP! Who's there!"
"Well... why don't you take a look?"
Third Person POV
(Play "Once We Part Ways" from the Xenoblade Chronicles Ost, you'll recognize the song from "The Scarf Reveal" Comic dub on Youtube)
Suddenly, Marinette could see again as she was standing in the middle of a blank white dimension or something, and she gasped when she saw who was in front of her: Ladybug. Ladybug... as a separate person in front of her. How is it possible?
"Ladybug? But how!? Are you some kind of illusion?" Marinette asked as there was nothing she could do to resist, and so she just had her doubts about the person standing in front of her.
"Well... kinda, I'm still you but as Ladybug... we are within the mental plane that is your mind," Ladybug explained as Marinette looked around the white dimension that was supposed to be her psyche. Marinette slightly frowned as she found her psyche after death to be a bit... underwhelming.
"Seems a little boring don't you think?"
"Welll we can quickly change that," Ladybug said as she snapped her fingers and suddenly the white of the dimension broke away to reveal Paris in its beautiful state before it got destroyed. Ladybug and Marinette were in front of the Eiffel Tower, and everything was silent... deadly silent, "Well, the reason I'm Ladybug is that I was formed by your mind after you died... I'm still you, see? Spots off," Ladybug said as she transformed back into Marinette for a split second before turning back into Ladybug, "Although, I'm forced to be Ladybug because since you're already here as Marinette and you no longer have your earrings," Ladybug said as Marinette touched her ear to find that Ladybug was right: they're gone.
"I see.... So I guess that means I'm dead.." Marinette looked at the ground, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, "I guess it's for the best."
"Well.... You're not completely dead... more like... on the verge of death," Ladybug made the halvsie sign as Marinette looked up again.
"Really?" Marinette's eyes brightened again.
"Yes.... but you have to decide whether or not you want to go back," Ladybug looked at her seriously as a flock of birds flew by them, casting their shadows over the pair.
"But... since I died.... I can't go back and change my destiny, fate decided to end my story here. If I go back, I might upset the balance of... I don't know! LIFE? People who are dead stay dead... they don't come back Ladybug..." Marinette argued as she felt her stomach make another flip.
"Well technically yes, you are dead, to them at least, but you're not dead yet. Marinette.... You have to understand that sometimes you can't let fate dictate your story... you can shape your own fate. Think about everyone you're leaving behind if you let yourself die," Ladybug gestured behind her and Marinette turned around to see, the people that she held so dear to her heart were materializing in front of her. The last person to appear stood right in front of her was Adrien. Marinette clasped a hand over her mouth as she reached out to touch Adrien, who softly smiled at her. When her fingertips made contact with his chest, her fingers went through him, making her jump in surprise.
