tw: homophobia

DEAR JOURNAL,today's been a bad day.
so i have been hanging out with watari, considering that the rest of the gang had their own free time activities: maneki and akira were helping mirai study for her test, and chie and asiaku were assisting miss yukizome on grading and sorting papers.
so watari and i were alone. we chose to just walk around school, maybe hang out in the cafeteria or in the music room, when the same dark-haired guy called out to us, specifically, to me.
"hey! pinky! hangin' out with your boyfriend?" a particular sort of venom dripped from the word boyfriend as he smiled mockingly at watari and i. attention drew to us as soon as the guy opened his mouth. to my horror, i heard a few laughs from the small groups of students who were around for the incident.
i froze, wanting to recoil in fear.
so he DID suspect something. watari jumped to action, and he pushed me behind him, assuming a defensive stance.
"hey! leave my friend alone!" he yelled, "c'mon, hiro, let's leave!"
i let him drag me away before things could escalate.
"aww, how sweet. two queers running away, huh? you can't hide forever, pinky!" the guy called after us, but thankfully, that's all he did. he didn't try to go after us or pick a fight with watari.
once we were a safe distance away from them, watari looked as if he wanted to interrogate me, but i didn't want to talk about it. though, i begged him to not say a word of this to neesan or our other friends.
he looked confused, tried to reason with me, but in the end, he gave in.
i think watari has already put the puzzle together. the whole joint class, and now the hallway incident. i think he knows.
he hadn't said anything about it.
i hope he doesn't hate me.
