It was time everyone was saying there goodbyes and see you next years and one by one each camper was picked up by there parents until Max was the only one left. David walked over to Max and said "i'm sure there just stuck in traffic" to not only reassure Max but to reassure himself that letting Max go home no questions asked. David got an idea David quickly ran to the cabin and grabbed a pen and paper and wrote his phone number on it he then proceeded to make his way back to Max when he got there Max was just standing there waiting David knelt down and gave Max the piece of paper and said "if you ever need anything or just want to talk call me alright" Max took the paper and nodded well putting it in his backpack when he was finished he saw the lights of a car coming toward the camp. "Ah that must be them" David said seeming to have cheered himself up. The car had pulled into the the camp and a woman got out "hey Max" she said cheerfully well opening the trunk of the car. "You must be Max's mother" David said extending his hand to shake the woman's. "No i'm his aunt his parent called me and said there plane would be late and asked me to pick him up" the woman replied shaking David's hand she then opened the passenger car door and gestured for Max to get in. After Max got into the car and she shut the door Max's aunt thanked David for taking such good care of him all summer got into her car and drove off leaving David unsure of what he really thought about Max's parents.

Well on his drive home with his aunt he had to listen to her talk down to him the entire way saying things like "why couldn't you have just walked" "you don't even have the decency to open than damn car door on you own" "you parents where right kids just get in the way at least they put you to work so you wont bug them with stupid shit like you always do with other people" Max just sat there he was used to hearing things like that not from just his family but other people around him to. Halfway home his aunt stopped to get something to eat for dinner leaving Max in the car on his own for about an hour when she came back she brought him table scraps that any normal person wouldn't even call food but Max on the other hand normally only had table scraps unless his parents were having one of there fancy dinner parties Max looked forward to those it meant he could eat all the food that wanted. Max ate the (food) that his aunt brought well she was driving and shouting about how he should be happy she even decided to bring him food in the first place.

Max was finally at home he may not have wanted to be there but it was home he hoped and prayed that his parents weren't home yet but when he opened the door he knew they would be there he prepared himself for what was to come but when he opened the door no one was there he was relieved but then realized that because he made it home before his parents they would expect the house to be tidied up. Max quickly got to work making sure he didn't miss a spot he worked till way passed midnight he was exhausted then he heard the door open his parents where home and they where not just angry they had been drinking. "At least the little shit decided to clean" Max heard his father say not even trying to be quiet his mother replied with "it looks like he missed a spot" causing Max to worry but he rushed to clean it hoping his parents would understand that he just hadn't made it that far yet but to no avail the moment he got in his father's sight his father screamed his name causing him to pause just long enough for his father kick him in the stomach "all this time here on your own and you still couldn't do it right!" his father yelled as Max his the ground gasping for air. "So did you do as we told you" his mother scoffed Max nodded still trying to catch his breath and then was yelled at to go and fetch it. Max got up and ran as fast as possible to his backpack and pulled out the piece of paper with David's phone number on it Max ran back handing it to his father who yelled at him to finish what he was doing then to get out of there site for the rest of the evening. Max cleaned the spot his mother pointed out put the cleaning supplies away and quickly went downstairs to his room. his room had a window, a shelf, a bed and small blanket, and a two drawer dresser he also had his backpack but that was he had in his room. Max lied down on his bed he only had three day until school started again and then he'd be allowed outside the house.
