Camp Camp Rescue (Dadvid)

Chapter 18

~David's P.O.V~

I woke up ready to start the day I must have been to eager because it was still an hour till everyone had to be up for breakfast. I decided a walk would be the best idea because I couldn't fall back asleep no matter what I did. Stepping outside the cabin I took a deep breath in "iv'e missed that smell". I began to walk toward where the tents where when I noticed something or someone near Max's tent. I tried to make out what it was but I was to far away and the sky was still to dark. I decided to move closer but I guess it caught the attention of the thing causing it to run off into the woods. I'll have to keep an eye out for that I thought continuing with my walk checking my watch from time to time to make sure that I wasn't gone for to long. It was now time to start the official first day of camp and activities. Today's fantastic activity was a hike and then camp fire songs. What a great first day it would be. "Alrighty campers after we eat we have and exciting activity where going on a hike" I smiled before all the campers groaned and began complaining Max did to even though we went on walks everyday together after he had gotten his cast off so he could build the muscles back to full strength in his leg. After breakfast everyone got ready to go Max was over prepared as one time well we where walking we got lost and it took twenty four hours for is to find our way back and to think he only complained a couple of times hes grown so much I smiled wiping a tear of joy from my eye. 

~Max's P.O.V~

even though I had been sleeping better since I moved in with David I couldn't sleep to save my life. Last night I could have sworn I heard something outside the tent but I shrugged it off because I didn't want visibly show concern around the other campers it's bad enough I brought a backpack with emergency supplies because of that one walk with David. I mean it's not like it was a bad experience but it was an eye opener that even with David somethings a sure to go wrong. "Hey Max whats with the backpack?" I heard Nikki ask from behind me. Neil was interested to so I told them about mine and David's extended walk they seemed to have a good laugh. We had been walking for almost an hour and I had been getting the creeps from that new counselor who was tasked with walking in the back of the group. I felt like he was watching me his eyes burning wholes right through me. I decided to pick up my pace which ended with me walking beside David with Nikki, and Neil who followed me. "Hey Max" David smiled at me as we walked I didn't respond and just kept walking I wanted nothing more that to be out of Jason's sight. No matter how far I got from him as long as he could see me I got that awful feeling. I was starting to feel sick from the uneasiness and David took notice quite quickly. "Hey Max are you feeling alright?" he knelt down stopping the entire group placing a hand on my shoulder. I didn't know weather or not to lie I froze. David repeated himself before calling Jason up to the front "Hey Jason can you bring Max back to camp and get him some ice" Jason happily agreed causing Gwen to have to take over the back of the group after Jason and I left. Well me and Jason walked he always stayed a little bit behind me which only made me more uneasy. We got to the mess hall and Jason ran to get the ice and came back with ice and a drink. He handed me them both and sat down next to me saying I should drink to it could be heat exhaustion. I thought it was weird he would think that but shortly after finishing my drink I began to feel light headed. The room was slowly started to spin and then it went black. 

~TIMESKIP~ ~Max's P.O.V~

I woke up in a cold sweat and sat up very quickly upon doing so I felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I brushed it off to I must have fallen funny when I passed out and made my way to the mess hall. outside the building was David and when he saw me he ran over giving me a hug "Max why didn't you say you felt sick sooner?" he looked me in the eyes worried but happy I was alright. we both entered the mess hall before I asked if David had an Advil. He replied with how he would have to wait till after dinner to give it to me because even though he was there to give the ok he wasn't allowed to give the campers and type of medicine unless it was an emergency. I nodded and went to go join my friends for the last twenty minuets before what I thought was going to be the day "David said where having a camp fire" Nikki said between spoon fulls of food. I didn't like that idea a camp fire meant one of two things camp fire songs or s'mores only one I was alright with I knew David would pull something that would make it so I had to play the guitar. David must have noticed my face because no sooner did the thought go through my mind David was at the table asking me to play some songs for the camp I agreed under the condition that he wouldn't make me sing. which he agreed. After we all ate David gave me an Advil and then I went to grab my guitar.
