David's P.O.V
I was talking to Max's parents trying to get them to slip and confess to something anything until out of the corner of my eye I saw Max making his way over this way towards us he look rushed. Before I knew it Max was telling us that dinner was ready and breaking up mine and his parents conversation. It took about five minuets for everyone there to be seated and get there food I expected Max's parents to sit me away from Max but I was just to chairs away from where he was sitting in between us where Nikki, and Neil who where talking about something Max did it made me slightly concerned that he might have done something to the food so I began to listen.
"Max I can't believe that you made all this food!" Nikki whispered loudly.
"Yea and it's good to why didn't you tell us you could cook?".
"Max you made this" David was astonished at what he heard. Max jumped when he heard me speak I guess he wasn't expecting me to over hear them. Max turned to Nikki, Neil, and I and began to respond to our questions.
"I-I didn't say anything because it was easier and y-yes I made this food" Max was stuttering while talking to us a blush crept across his face. He must be embarrassed I thought before the gentleman sitting to the right of Max stood up and walked down the hallway to witch a couple minuets later Max also got up and headed the same way. They must have a lot of washrooms here I thought giving a little laugh. The food was amazing everyone seemed to enjoy it but for some reason Max hadn't come back to the table yet along with the man that had left the table before Max did. Within the a couple minuets I heard a loud thud not sure where it came from I didn't put much thought into it until the man who went down the hallway came back and went to speak to Max's parents. This started to get me worried as Max still hadn't come back but I didn't want to draw suspicion to myself so I just stayed by Nikki, and Neil.
"Hey David whats wrong" Nikki's voice questioned pulling me out of my thought.
"It's nothing Nikki I was just lost in thought" I said trying not to let out concern in my voice. Just then Max came back from that hallway nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary until he walked passed me to show a huge red mark on his face. I wanted to stop him and ask what happened but before I could he was already with his parents. I was trying not to make it obvious that I was trying to eavesdrop.
"What happened to your face?".
"I just screwed up". Wait I thought as Max's eyes caught my own. Max was now making his way over here with an uncomfortable look on his face.
"Hey Max what happened to your face did you fall?" I asked concerned as he finally got over to me.
"Y-yea I fell of the counter" He replied with a shocked look on his face I guess his parents knew he was clumsy witch is why they didn't over react. me and Max spoke for about twenty more minuets before there was a knock at the door I was Nikki's mother here to pick her up who was followed by Neil's father "Kid's your parents are here!" Max's mother shouted to Nikki, and Neil catching there attention. Before I knew it Max was over at the door saying goodbye to his friends before heading up the stairs. I guess it was time for him to go to bed. "Uh David Max asked us to tell you he'd like to speak with you. You can head up when you'd like" Max's mother said walking off to rejoin the party. This is it I can ask Max and hopefully get an answer I thought before I knocked on Max's door. I heard a lot of rustling before Max said "come in" his voice sounded shaky was he scared was he going to tell me something that scared him to tell me. I opened the door to see Max sitting on a huge bed with silk bedding I didn't really pay any mind to the whole room I wanted Max to tell me what was bugging him. I walked over to the bed and and sat down waiting for Max to speak. Minuets turned to an hour before Max spoke.
"Never mind it wasn't important".
"Are you sure Max" concern covering my face. Max nodded before looking away. "Alright but here this is for you" I gave Max the microphone that was disguised as hair clip got up and made my way down stairs.
