Chapter 22

~Preston's P.O.V~

I have to do something don't I. I thought as the woman threw the rock at Max. "Max look out!" I shouted warning Max about the rock flying towards him giving him time to move out of the way. "Great are all you little shits going to give me a hard time!?" the woman was clearly annoyed at what I had just done. I didn't know what was going to happen next but what I saw was amazing. All the camper were now in the fight half helping Max and half helping David they where doing quite well holding them off but all I could do was watch I don't know whether it was fear or the fact I thought I would get in peoples way in a real fight. I really wanted to help but I just stood there until it happened. I saw the woman threw a punch right into Max's jaw he instantly fell to the ground and before I knew it I was part of the fight. I was throwing punches left and right not even noticing that after I started fighting that none of the other campers that where fighting the woman where fighting her anymore. I was taking this woman on all by myself and holding my own I was so impressed with my self that when the woman fell to the ground I only paused a moment to wipe the blood from my nose before I noticed the other campers looking at me. "Well are we just gonna stand here or go help the others" I said now leading the charge. The campers all about to head over and beat the shit out of the guy but were stopped by a police car pulling in with the siren blasting. "Police put your hands up!" the officer shouted walking towards the now completely stopped fight with there hand on there gun holster just in case it got ugly. The cop quickly took notice to the two people unconscious on the ground the pulled out his phone "hello I need and ambulance to Camp Campbell to people unconscious and many injured" The police officer said into his phone then continued his way over to the crowd of people who where part of the fight. The officer then proceeded to separate David and the man he was fighting with and waited for the ambulance. The ambulance arrived quite quickly for how long ago it was called with a total of five paramedics. Everything moved so fast that I no longer had any idea what was going on I heard bits and pieces I heard the police officer ask David about Max's legal guardian but I didn't hear him answer because one of the paramedics had come up to me and started asking me questions. I'm glad they were simple yes or no questions because I wanted to know what was happening and why it happened I think the campers where just satisfied that we wouldn't have to do a camp activity that they didn't want to. I guess I looked worse than I was because a couple minuets after the paramedic came to see me they where quickly onto the next person. I couldn't help but worry about Max who was knocked unconscious in the fight. "Alright campers once the paramedic says your alright please head to the mess hall so we aren't in there way" David's cheerful demeanor right back to where it was before all this happened it was kind of creepy how quickly David was smiling again after a fight like that. It's to bad that I couldn't ask David what was going on i'm sure all the other kids were talking about it. Instead of talking with everyone I watched out the window to see what was going on this wasn't just inspiration anymore it was a horror movie come to life except no one died. "Preston are you alright" a voice came out of nowhere pulling my attention away from the window. It was Jason he was nice enough but he always found a way to ruin my shows "Yes I am fine it's called a dramatic moment and now I must start again" I scoffed then turned my head back to the window not caring whether or not Jason was still there. I noticed David carrying Max toward the cabin and knew when he was done there he'd be back here and swarmed by all the campers I have to go get the scoop before anyone else. I looked around making sure the coast was clear and then made my exit. I quickly made my way to the cabin trying not to be seen and stopped at the door. "Max how ya feeling?" I heard David say Max must have woken up. I was about to knock on the door when I heard Max say something.
