Chapter 1

Namjoon's POV

I sigh as I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock. I read the time and groan as I slowly make my way out of bed. I had to get to the office by 6:30. I wouldn't have had to wake up so early if I chose to take my car to the office, but I always preferred walking. I went through my daily routine without thinking. I stand in front of the mirror as I tie my tie around my neck. I grab my keys and make my way out of my house. I lock the door behind me and begin to walk to the office. I go over the information I want to address during today's meeting. If all went well, I would be able to seal the deal. RM Corp could spread its influence past just South Korea. For as long as I can remember this has been my goal. If I could make people's lives just a bit better, it would all be worth it. As I walk, I look at the sky and everything else around me. When I turn the corner I bump right into someone who seems to be in a rush. The person I bumped into is a young man who seems very frazzled. I frown and instantly apologize, "I'm sorry about that. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

The man bows his head down, "No, no that was my fault. I was in a big rush and I wasn't looking and I bumped right into you. I am so sorry, sir."

I chuckle and look at him, "Don't worry about it kid." The man looks up at me and I stare at him for a moment. I feel like I've seen him before, somewhere. The man stares back at me like he recognizes me as well. "Oh...you're...you're Kim Namjoon. The CEO of RM Corporation. I can't believe it. It is an honor to meet you, sir. You're like my role-model," the young man says his eyes widening.

I smile at him, "What's your name?"

"I'm Jeon Jungkook. Mr. Kim Namjoon, sir." Jungkook says.

"Well, Jungkook, it is nice to meet you. No need to call me mister or sir, just call me Namjoon hyung," I reply. Jungkook only nods his head. I question the young man, "Jungkook. If you don't mind me asking where are you headed off to?"

"I'm going to school, Namjoon hyung. I have class at 6 today," Jungkook says hesitating a bit before calling me what I told him to.

I nod my head, "What school? Why don't we talk while walking? So, you don't miss your class and I'm not late for my meeting." Jungkook starts walking as I say this and I follow him. We soon fall into step and walk side by side. We begin to talk like old friends and not just two strangers who met a few minutes ago. I learn that Jungkook goes to the same school that I went to for college. I tell Jungkook more about the work I do at RM Corp and my goals for the company. "That's really interesting, hyung. I've always admired your work. You're the youngest CEO to have built a successful company from the ground up. I want to do something that is just as groundbreaking as you. I doubt it will happen though, I can't even decide on what I want my major to be. I've switched majors so many times. I don't know..." Jungkook explains to me.

I chuckle, "It isn't easy to decide on a major. It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to do with my life. I didn't really have any dreams, I just focused on doing well in school. It all worked out in the end though. I'm sure it'll be the same for you."

"You didn't always know you were going to be a CEO?" Jungkook asks.

I shake my head, "I was really into music and wanted to do something along those lines. In the end, my mom convinced me to focus more on studies and become a business man of some sort."

"Do you ever wonder what could've happened if you chose to pursue music?" Jungkook asks, "Sorry, I'm asking way too many questions. I probably sound like some crazy fanboy...."

"Don't worry about it. It's nice to have someone to talk to about things that don't involve the technicalities of the Corporation. Sometimes I think about it. I wonder what if I decided to continue rapping. I doubt I would be where I am today," I reply. Jungkook nods his head and checks a watch that is on his wrist. His eyes widen, "Crap, it's 5:55. I'm going to be late to class."
