Here you go, everyone! As promised! Thanks for the feedback, I'm not too proud to say I love hearing from you guys!! Xo xo
It was, technically, legal," Alec sighed as he placed he warrant back down on the table. "However weak it may have been it's still legal. What we can do going forward is document everything and keep your noses clean."
Happy, Katie and Jax nodded silently. They were tired, more like exhausted, but the meeting was necessary.
"Thank you," Katie said as she stifled a yawn. "What about Charming? The whole town knows, we have to do some damage control."
"I got that," Jax assured her. "It's all taken care of."
"Thank you," she said with a smile. "Excuse me, guys." Katie got up and disappeared into the living room.
"She ain't good with any of this," Happy told Jax and Alec.
"I can't imagine she would be," Alec sighed. "When did his happen? I didn't know you two were moving in together."
"I dunno," Happy shrugged. "Just kinda happened."
"Alec," Jax said in a hushed tone. "We gotta handle Stahl."
"I can't have this conversation," Alec warned them. "I don't mind bending ethics for you guys when necessary but with Stahl, I can't know too much before it happens."
"Got it," Jax nodded. It was clear Alec had a line and murder was clearly something that crossed it. Both Happy and Jax respected that.
"I'll be in touch," he assured them before leaving the table to find Katie.
"We gotta get Ope on this," Happy said. "Something in her car, remote detonate, she's fucking handled."
"We gotta be careful," Jax warned Happy. "It'll take time but I'm not going to let any of us go Stockton on capital murder to get the goddamn needle."
"She's scared," Happy told him. "I don't want her to run again."
"This was a good first move," Jax said. "You have to keep her close. Charlotte said she likes it here, actually said she likes you," he laughed a little before getting serious again. "I appreciate you looking after my daughter the way you do, Hap. I see it, I hear shit, and I gotta thank you."
"It's all good," he said. "She's a good kid."
"Yeah she is," he said with a sweet smile. "You want one?"
"Nah," he chuckled. "Charlie is cool but I don't want that."
"Kate does," he said somberly. "Maybe you should try to bend a little.
"I am," he said defensively. "But I don't want a kid, Jax."
"Alright," Jax said quickly.
"Stay outta this shit," Happy said with annoyance. "I know you're friends and shit but back off."
Jax nodded and stood up. "I'll see you in the daylight, brother. Maybe shit'll be clearer then."
Remaining in his seat as Jax left Happy felt anger burning up in his chest. Everyone was meddling in his relationship and it was giving him doubts. There he was, living with a woman and thinking about actually having a child with her, all because he was listening to everyone else.
The door shut a second time and Katie reappeared in the kitchen. "Hi."
"Hey," he huffed. "Alec left?"
"Yep."
"You good?"
"Uh, no," she said sadly. I keep getting more shit piled on me before I can even deal with everything else."
