The sharp knock on Katie's door was startling, even more so with the steadily rising tensions in her life. She approached the door carefully and peeked out to see Alec. Drawing her head back, shocked, she opened the door with a look of complete confusion.
"Long time," she sighed.
"I know," he pursed his lips. "May I?" Alec gestured into the house.
Katie nodded. "Yeah, 'course," she stepped aside for him to enter. "Everything okay?"
"Long story short, Happy, got picked up, but he'll be out soon."
"For what? What happened? Is he okay?"
Alec nodded. "He's fine, it was part of their mess with the Feds."
"He didn't tell me," she said mournfully.
"He didn't know," Alec explained. "They keep everything under wraps until the last minute to make it harder for information to spread."
She sighed heavily and nodded. "How long?"
"Day or two, can't get out too quickly or suspicions will rise," he told her.
"Thanks for the information," she said sadly.
He looked at her with a sweet smile. "I missed you."
"I missed you too, I'm sorry," she shook her head. "Life, you know?"
"Especially your life," he laughed. "When I was at the clubhouse earlier I saw something."
"You see a lot of things there, wanna try being more specific?"
"Transfer papers," he cocked his head. "What's going on?"
"We wanna stretch out legs," Katie said. "Small town life isn't what everyone claims it is."
"Katie," he said, looking over his glasses at her.
"Jax and Happy have...they're at odds lately. Space will help all of us."
"Who screwed up?"
"Would you believe it if I said ultimately it was me?"
"Never in a million years," he said, reaching over and gently stroking cheek. "I'm going to guess that means Jax though."
"He asked me to do something, I did it then I got mad and told Happy," she shook her head. "I should have said no, from the start," Katie pouted.
"What did he ask?"
"It's a long, sordid story," she laughed ruefully. "Anyway, it's done and there's no going back now."
"I'm sorry," he said with sincerity. "You haven't been given the best hand."
"No, but I also made some poor choices so, can't blame it all on fate."
There was another knock on the door and Katie groaned, rolling her eyes as she went to see who had come to bother her now. Opening the door she saw a bike messenger with a large envelope.
"Katie Lowman?"
"That's me," she forced a smile.
"Here you go," he handed her the envelope and jumped back on his bicycle.
Katie looked at the delivery and quickly opened it. Inside were large, slightly blurry, photos of Happy and another woman. They were naked and in a compromising position, a few positions actually. Slipping the photos back in the envelope she felt a silent rage start at her feet and slowly build up inside her. Tossing the evidence of his infidelity at Alec she marched through the house and into the garage.
"Motherfucking piece of shit," she roared, grabbing a bat from the floor.
With a smile, she began swinging it with all her strength into the nearly rebuilt Harley that Happy had been tooling with for months. It was in their garage for years, rusting and falling apart, but it wasn't until their family life settled, as much as it could, that he actually put in the work. Katie was thrilled to destroy it after he had seemingly destroyed all the work they both put into their relationship.
"Kate!" Alec hollered as he bolted into the garage to see what she had done. "Stop, stop!"
"Fuck him," she shouted. "Fuck Jax. Fuck SAMCRO." As she screamed she began to cry. "I gave him everything and he fucks some random bitch? No fucking way. I'll kill him my goddamn self!"
The more she hollered and continued in on the bike the more anxious her neighbors grew. They knew, as did many residents, not to call the police but the elderly woman next door was too scared for Katie not to contact the sheriff.
The sirens knocked sense into her and Katie dropped the bat. "Fuck," she whimpered, looking around at the destroyed garage.
"Mrs. Lowman?" Eglee approached her carefully.
"Feldstein," Katie corrected the deputy.
"What's going on?"
"Working out some shit," she explained. "Sorry."
"Kids okay?" Eglee asked as she glanced around the property.
"They're fine, they're with the nanny," Katie felt the rage turn into sorrow. "Look what he did to me."
"Who?"
"Hap," Katie said simply. "Look what he did to me," she began to sob. When Eglee came closer Katie kept moving back.
"I'm bringing you in," Eglee said. "Just until you calm down and we can piece this together."
"Katie, go with her," Alec advised. "I think it's safer for everyone right now."
"I'm not wrong," she snapped. Katie turned to look at Eglee. "He cheated on me. I almost died when I had our last baby, I almost fucking bled to death, and he can't give me some time to deal with my shit? He can't just jerk off for a couple months? After everything?"
When Katie turned to look at Alec again Eglee swiftly cuffed her. "I'm sorry, Kate," she said quietly.
"Whatever," Katie began to cry. "Who fucking cares? He's locked up, I'm locked up, at least I can't kill him if I'm cuffed."
"Katie, for the love of god, stop talking," Alec growled. "You're gonna get yourself in trouble."
"I got myself in trouble the day I fucking met him. I wish I never set foot back in Charming."
