A Christmas Light

On the eve of Christmas Day

Chris Chringle sent a present my way

For a star above then moon shone brighter than the others

But was truly Venus-earth's sister

The planet waited in the sky with the diamonds glowing

And in the cold snow I stood watching

Even though nothing happened I saw such beauty

In the sky Venus would dim often but ever so slightly

There the planet sat in pale moonlight

And I thanked Santa Clause that Christmas night
