On the eve of Christmas Day
Chris Chringle sent a present my way
For a star above then moon shone brighter than the others
But was truly Venus-earth's sister
The planet waited in the sky with the diamonds glowing
And in the cold snow I stood watching
Even though nothing happened I saw such beauty
In the sky Venus would dim often but ever so slightly
There the planet sat in pale moonlight
And I thanked Santa Clause that Christmas night
