[A MONTH LATER]

Light laid in bed. She was awake, but still too sleepy to move. What motivated her to get up was always the excitement of meeting with Amy and Cream, one of her new friends she'd made during her time here. The three had tea and snacks together and whenever Amy was busy with Sonic, Light would play with Cream.

When the purple hedgehog decided to get up, she stretched her arms and legs before slipping out of bed, making her way down to the kitchen. At every window in her home, flowers sat on the windowsills; the same kind Shadow had shown to her for her to use to calm down.

She made herself breakfast, sitting on the counter so she could watch out the window while she ate.

Amy was watering her rose bushes and she assumed Sonic was on his routine run. She could see Knuckles and Tails, whom she'd met when she moved here, simply walking by and enjoying the sun while it lasted— winter was coming soon and it'd grow cold.

Light finally had friends, a home and while she was so happy about that, there was always a part missing. Shadow never came to visit.

She was happy where she was and she was grateful for what Shadow had done for her, but he'd sent her away the same day he told her he wouldn't. Technically, he wasn't sending her away— he never said she couldn't ever go back to the cave and visit him instead, but she couldn't find her way and she didn't want to risk getting lost.

She supposed the only thing to do was wait.

Tugging on her coat and pulling on her boots, Light headed outside. She was picking flowers with Cream today— she promised her that she'd help her make flower crowns.

"Hi, Light!" Cream exclaimed cheerfully. She'd been waiting outside her home with Cheese.

"Hello, Cream. Would you like to go pick flowers now?" The older one asked, the bunny bouncing to her feet in excitement. "I would love to!"

The two walked towards the nearby field, passing Amy and Sonic along the way. The two had a day planned for just them— apparently Sonic had something special planned. Something about a proposal that she didn't understand. Light adored how close Sonic and Amy were, how much he cared about it. It made her happy knowing they had each other. They'd be safe and happy— they deserved it.

"Do you think Amy will wear a pretty dress?" Cream asked, looking up at Light who seemed confused at this question. "Is there a special occasion?" She asked, seeming to confuse Cream in turn.

"For the wedding," the younger one clarified, seeming excited by the idea of something Light knew nothing of.

"A wedding? What is the purpose of that?"

Cream almost froze at the question in shock, eyes widening. "You mean you don't know what a wedding is?"

"No. Should I?"

The two sat in the field, Light picking flowers to weave together as Cream stared at Light as though she were a foreign object.

"Weddings are for people who are in love, Light. Like Sonic and Amy."

"They love each other very much, but what is the purpose? Do weddings make them love each other more?" Light asked, Cream shaking her head in response. "It's to unify people in love! They will promise to love each other forever. It's really sweet."
