It only took seconds for the land to hear of Sonic and Amy's engagement. Sonic had run all over, exclaiming how Amy had said yes and Amy had spent the night at Light's place, sharing all her wedding plans.

It hadn't been intentional, Amy staying over, but she'd talked and doodled all her ideas and she had enough to share for centuries— at least, Light was convinced she could, considering she'd shared so much she fell asleep over the table, face pressed into the pile of pages. Light would have gone to get Sonic to take her home to bed, but Amy had asked her not to share any of these ideas with Sonic. She wanted it to be a surprise. Therefore, Light had simply wrapped a blanket around Amy's shoulders and settled a pillow beneath her head so she wasn't laying on the hard table or smudging her drawings.

Because Amy had unintentionally stayed over, Light had woken early and made sure to let Sonic know where she was so he wouldn't worry, then she set about making breakfast. She wasn't exactly skilled in cooking, but Amy had been teaching her and she'd picked up enough to make a simple pancake without burning them.

When she set the small stack on the table, the smell had Amy's head lifting, sleepy eyes spotting the pancakes. "Light.. those look awful," she muttered tiredly, sitting up as Light cleaned the scattered papers into a neat pile.

"I tried my best."

Light sat down, Amy sniffing at the pancakes before taking a small nibble at one. It tasted decent— far better than her previous attempts.

"It doesn't taste as bad as they look. I'm real proud of you!"

The two ate, Amy trying to remember how she'd fallen asleep. When Light explained she fell asleep whilst in the middle of talking about trying to get Sonic into clothes for once, the two laughed and shook their heads. Amy had tried many times to get Sonic into clothes, even just a simple jacket in the winter time. It never worked, however. He always complained that they were itchy and made him uncomfortable.

"Can we do something fun today?" Light asked, finishing off her pancake with a tilt of her head. Amy, however, shook her head in reply. "I can't. Sonic wants to do stuff to celebrate our engagement, y'know? Seeing as I wasn't with him last night.."

Amy grinned to herself whilst Light frowned in confusion causing Amy to giggle.

"You'll understand when you're older."

"I'm older than you."

The two laughed, only stopping when Sonic burst through the door. "Hello~ Where is my fiancée?!"

"Here!"

Amy shot to her feet, racing to Sonic who scooped her into his arms. "Hello, gorgeous!" He kissed her head, setting her back on her feet as he looked over at the other female. "Hey, Light. What's up, pal?"

"Nothing. Amy and I were just eating. You missed out."

"On your cooking? Lucky me!"

"Hey!"

All three of them now began laughing. It was nice to just laugh, it felt great and Light wished they could feel this way all the time. However, Eggman was always attacking with almost had Light worrying about what he'd do with something as big as a wedding. He hadn't attacked for a few days which had Light anxious.. was he planning something or was his last defeat a hard enough hit that he has to take time to recover and think? Sonic and Shadow did beat him pretty bad last time.
