Shadow guided Light back to her home, her hand grasped tightly within his own. She didn't seem to be paying much attention to anything given as he seemed to have given her plenty to think about.. his mistake.

Once they'd made it back to her house, Light simply curled up on her sofa. Perhaps Shadow had been wrong to put all this on her..

"Would you like me to leave?" The male asked, lingering by the door. He wasn't used to seeing Light so .. unhappy. Maybe he was rubbing off on her and that wasn't good.

"No, please stay," Light's ears perked back up as she looked over at him, watching as he nodded and shut the door behind him.

He slowly made his way to sit on the sofa, though leaving a gap between them so she had her space if that was what she needed. However, Light simply crawled over to lay her head on his lap. She was hesitant in doing so, unsure whether or not he'd push her off, but when he allowed her to do so, she burrowed in further.

"At least i'll get to spend plenty of time with them before anything bad like that happens, right?" She asked, Shadow staring down at her.

He gently began to pet her quills, like one would do to a pet. It was his attempt to settle her down. "Of course. You'll have plenty of time and I will ensure nothing comes in the way of that," he told her, his tone genuine for once. Even if he didn't care much for any of her friends, if them being alive would keep her happy, he would ensure they remained that way. It was his promise to her.

"Why do you not spend time with Sonic and Amy now?" He asked, watching the way that familiar light between her eyes flickered on again. A small smile even found its way back as she answered, "They're celebrating. They're getting married."

"So i've heard."

Light sat up, nuzzling against the white patch of fur on Shadow's chest. "Please come with me to the wedding. We can watch their special day together," she spoke softly. Her words were not what brought a small smile to his face, but her actions did. "You can attend without me. I see no point in weddings, nor do I believe I would be invited to such things."

"What will you do instead?" Light asked, looking up from his chest to see his eyes staring down at her. "Everyone else will be there. You will be all alone."

"I fail to see why that's a bad thing."

"I don't want you to be alone," Light frowned, nuzzling up under his chin. Whilst she was surprised she was being allowed to do so, she didn't question it— it was nice to show someone affection. 

"I have you, don't I?"

"Always."

"Then i'm not alone, am I?" Shadow tilted his head, Light shaking hers in response.

"Now. What have you got planned for the rest of today?" Shadow asked, the purple hedgehog thinking for a moment. She had intended to see if Cream wanted to make more flower crowns or if Tails and Knuckles were doing anything, but since Shadow was here, none of that mattered as much to her.

"I have nothing. Can I spend the day with you?"

Shadow grinned, nodding as he moved her away from him with a gentle push of his hand and stood. "Of course. However, I fail to see what you have to do in this house of yours.. you have nothing but flowers."
