Chapter 6

I was coming back from my nightly meet up with Annabeth. We didn't do much at these. Just talk and gossip. Crack stupid jokes.

These meet ups were just ways to build our friendship. Spend more time together.

Like I said, I was coming back from my nightly meet up with Annabeth. I slowly opened the door to my cabin when a hand grabbed my arm and pulled me all the way in. The door closed behind me. "What the heck?"

"Shh. It's just us."

"Just who?"

One of the two outlines I saw sighed. "Just Drew and Lacy."

Suddenly my eyes adjusted to the darkness and I recognized their voices. I sighed in relief. "What do you guys want?"

"To talk to you, but let's go to the bathroom so we can be a bit louder." Lacy whispered.

So we all walked into the bathroom. It was clean, but not neat. There were makeup bags and brushes everywhere. Mascara and highlighters in the sink. But that was typical.

I began to wonder if, in the Athena cabin, they had actually school highlighters in their sinks. And that made me think of Annabeth. Which made me smile.

"Hey, lover girl, snap out of it." Drew said.

"Sorry. What was it you wanted to talk about again?"

"About who you love. Because we have an idea." Lacy answered.

"Like I told you, I'm not sure who it is."

"Liar. Liar liar pants on fire Piper McLean. You're in love with Annabeth and we," She gestured to her and Lacy, "both know it."

I was taken aback. How could they possibly know I was in love with Annabeth? I scoffed, "yeah and Leo's in love with Chiron. What kind of operation are you running here?"

Drew closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She then opened them and stared at me, using her charmspeak. "Tell us the truth."

I tried to keep my mouth shut, say something in charmspeak to counteract what she just did, try to say something else, but it was no use.

"You're right. I am in love with Annabeth. A lot. She's so pretty and I just want to kiss her." I slapped my hand over my mouth.

Drew and Lacy stood there with their jaws dropped. Drew handed Lacy $10 and she gladly accepted it, smiling big. "I told you Piper was so in love with Annabeth that she'd want to kiss her."

I was getting a little angry. "Ha Ha. You've had your laughs, you got what you came here for. Now leave me alone. I'm sorry I'm in love with a girl. It really isn't my fault, I can't control who I love." I sighed and sat down on the floor, head in my hands.

"No no no, Piper you've got it all wrong." Lacy said in a sweet voice.

"Yeah, we want to help you."

"Help me with what?" I inquired.

"Help you get with Annabeth." Drew said. "We couldn't care less that you're in love with a girl. We support all that." She nodded at Lacy.

Lacy pulled a small rainbow flag out of her back pocket. She waved it a little and smiled.

I smiled too and stood up. "You guys really want to help me, don't you?" They both nodded.
