Chapter 8

It was around lunchtime the next day, and I was walking around with Annabeth. After around five minutes of walking, she slipped her hand into mine. I turned to look at her, shocked that she would hold my hand. It wasn't something we did often. But she just smiled and returned back to our conversation. 

That's when Leo came over, looking just as mad as the hatter. "Guys." He said, out of breath, "What are you up to this weekend?"

I glanced over at Annabeth, she shrugged, "Not much. Just probably gonna chill with Piper somewhere and mess around."

Leo looked at me. I stared blankly back. "Ditto. But chill and mess around with Annabeth. Not me."

"You guys should chill out at bunker nine. I'm throwing a small get together. Just you two, me, Calypso, Percy and Jason."

"Sounds fun. What are we going to do there?" Annabeth asked. 

"Anything. We could pop in a movie, play some games, mill about and talk. Whatever. Anyways I've still got to tell Percy and Jason about it so I'll catch you guys later at 7." He said this as he slowly backed away. I noticed him glance down at our hands, but then he threw up some finger guns and sprinted off.

"What a strange boy." I said.

"Definitely, who throws a party and doesn't even know what to do at it."

"Well, have you any idea of what we should do?"

"Well...we could play...truth or dare?"

"You know Annabeth, that's not a half bad idea." It could be fun.

I walked into my cabin noticing that it wasn't as loud as it usually is, with Drew bossing everyone around and people screaming about someone else using their makeup or taking their Versace bag. 

I half expected the cabin to be empty, maybe there was another party going on early that night. But instead I walked in to see Drew, Lacy and, to my surprise, Aphrodite all whispering harshly to each other. The moment I stepped in all three heads spun toward me. They all appeared to be angry, though Aphrodite was still just as beautiful.

"Sorry, was this a bad time?" I asked.

"No." Drew responded, "Actually, I was just about to send Lacy to go find you. We have another plan."

"What's with all these plans? Why are you trying to run my love life? Can't I just do this all by myself. I think I'll be just fine."

"Piper. It's not that we want to run your love life, we want to help you. You and Annabeth are the biggest ship of the decade. The century. The millennium. Don't tell anyone I told you this, but all the gods on Mount Olympus ship you two." This all from Aphrodite.

I was shocked. All the gods on Mount Olympus shipped Annabeth and I? "That's not true."

"It is!" She exclaimed. "They're even beginning to ship Athena and I together. Which is really upsetting Hephaestus."

"I still don't believe you."

"Whatever. Let's get back to the subject. We've come up with a plan. We can't tell you what it is. Just that whatever happens tonight, go along with it. Don't be nervous, don't be afraid. And please, for the love of gods, wear something decent." Aphrodite then looked at Drew and Lacy in turn before vanishing.

I turned to grill Drew and Lacy about what she was talking about, but they were already out of the cabin before I could blink.
