I woke up the next morning and Lacy and Drew were already right by my side asking about the other night.

"What happened?" Lacy asked.

"Did she reject you or something?" This from Drew.

"Did you kiss?"

I sat there in bed in shock. I was also trying to wake my self up as I rubbed my eyes. "No and no."

"So what happened?" Drew inquired.

I sighed. "We were talking about how we both thought that we could have been past lovers. Because of how familiar we seem to each other. How familiar it feels when we hold hands.."

"Hold up...you held hands?" Drew asked.

Lacy clapped, "How exciting! That's a huge step Piper. I'm proud of you."

"Uh..thanks? Anyway, yes we've held hands a couple times. But basically we almost kissed. I mean, she was so close, her face was right there." I gestured to a few inches in front of my face.

"Why didn't you just kiss her? If she was just right there. I mean come on Piper, what if Annabeth really does like you?" Drew said.

"I didn't kiss her because I don't know if she likes me too. It would ruin our friendship if I kissed her. And I 100% doubt that Annabeth likes me." I insisted.

"Why don't we find out. Come on Drew." Lacy commanded. They stood there for a second more, scanning me up and down, before they left the cabin.

I wonder what they were going to do.

——————

It was after lunch and I hadn't seen Annabeth, or Lacy, or Drew all morning. Hopefully they didn't kidnap her or anything.

*cut to Annabeth tied to a chair with a bright light shining on her face.*

"DO YOU LIKE PIPER MCLEAN? TELL ME, DO YOU?" Drew yells.

"W-What? I-I don't know. M-Maybe. Yes. No." Annabeth whimpers.

"I DIDNT UNDERSTAND ANY OF THAT. YES OR NO. ITS SIMPLE. STOP BEING CONFUSING WOMAN." Lacy yells.

Nahhh I'm just kidding. That never happens. Just a little thing I thought would be funny to write.

I was going on a walk in the forest, thinking about Annabeth.

It was clear to me now that I was in love with Annabeth. I mean reaaallly in love. But I've never liked girls before. Where did this come from? What do I call myself? I had heard that there were labels for your "sexuality." Like gay and straight. Well..I liked boys and girls I guess. "Then what am I?" I shouted.

"Perhaps bisexual, or pansexual." A voice from behind me says.

I jump and turn around to see a strikingly beautiful woman leaning against a tree a few feet away from me. "W-Who are you?"

"I'm Aphrodite of course. Well, your Mother really."

I stood there, mouth agape. So this was my mother? How had such a beautiful woman given birth to...well...me? "Oh. Well, what is it you want?"

She laughed. "Piper I know you're new to this all, but seriously. I would have thought Lacy would have told you this."

"Told me what?"

"You know I'm the goddess of love right?" I nodded my head. "As the goddess of love and your mother I find it my duty to be involved in all my children's love lives. Also Drew and Lacy have been Iris messaging me lots of crazy things and I wanted to see if they were true."

"No offense Aphrodite.."

"Mom." She corrected.

I nodded slowly, "No offense...Mom..but I really don't want to bother you with my love life. It's quite complicated and silly, and you wouldn't approve."

She gasped and looked a little sad. "Wouldn't approve? Of what? Of the fact that you love a girl? Piper that doesn't matter at all. I love you no matter who you like. And if I didn't approve I could just as easily make you stop liking girls."

"You really could?"

"Goddess of love, keep up Piper. Anyway, I'm here to help you Piper. Let me help."

"Fine. Help me. Please?"

"Okay. You have a crush on Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, right?"

"Yes." I nod my head.

"I knew it would happen again." Aphrodite whispers under her breath.

"I'm sorry what was that?"

"Oh nothing. Piper, I'm not really supposed to meddle with too many people's love lives. So I can only give you a little advice. Tell her how you feel. You don't have to do it now, just when you feel the time is right. If you don't tell her you'll only tear yourself apart over an unspoken love. If you do tell her, and she likes you too, then great! If she doesn't like you back then you'll only get over her faster and move on to bigger better things."

"You really think I should tell her?"

"It would be the best."

"But that's embarrassing. Rejection is embarrassing. Everything is embarrassing."

"It might be, but it's the best thing to do really." She stated.

"Fine. I'll tell her." And with that I stomped off toward my cabin, wondering how in the world I could possibly confess to Annabeth my love.

Aphrodite watched as Piper walked away. She sighed, "I won't embarrass Piper even more by leaving my 'mark' on her. I know she hates makeup and dressing up. I know she hates me. She would have wanted any of the other goddesses to be her mother. Any of them but me." With a sad, distant look on her face Aphrodite vanished.

Once I reached the cabin Drew and Lacy were already sitting by the front door. "Piper, we need to talk." Drew stated.

"Alright. In the cabin." I said as I walked inside.

We were the only ones in there. "Piper, we talked to Annabeth, just about who she liked and stuff."

"Okay.."

"She didn't tell us who she liked, and she only referred to her crush as 'them' and 'they.'" I was confused. Drew sighed. "She didn't use a specific gender. Probably because she doesn't want us to know she likes a girl. And doesn't want us to think it's a boy."

"You think Annabeth likes a girl? How?"

"I literally just told you. She used they/them pronouns. Not he/him or she/her."

"I don't understand.."

"You know what, let's just say that Lacy and I have a sense that she likes a girl. And that girl is most likely you."

Author's Note

Sorry I've been gone for so long. I took a long break. I should be back to updating stuff soon. I'm busy with lots of school work and stuff, so it'll be a while before I can really update another chapter. This chapter was something I had already written up before I left. So I just read it again, fixed some errors, and now I can post it. I think it's good enough. Let me know what you think.

And as always, if you'd like to see something, let me know.
