"Okay. There's hydrogen and helium, then lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon everywhere, nitrogen all through the air." I recited to myself, pacing back and forth in the small area behind the register counter.

"With oxygen so you can breathe and fluorine for your pretty teeth." I continued.

"Neon to light up the signs, sodium for salty times."

I snapped out of my gaze, hearing the sound of that flat voice. That was the loudest I've ever heard it to be.

"You know the periodic table song?" I asked Jaemin, extending my arm to grab the bill he had placed on the counter.

He nodded, taking his ice cream.

"It's good for memorization." I added, dropping the change into his hand.

"Yeah, it sure is." his voice dropped down to the soft volume again.

He left and I sighed, wondering why he reverted back to speaking so quietly.
