I glanced up from my phone screen every now and then, tapping my foot against the tile, anticipating Jaemin's arrival.

When the jingle sound rang through my ears, I lifted my head, the hooded boy heading over to the freezer.

"Hello." I chimed when he came up to the counter. I then furrowed my eyebrows, seeing a bag of shaving razors sitting next to the pint. My eyes shifted to his arm, noticing the fabric of his sleeve dotted with what I assumed to be blood.

I grabbed the bag, holding it up. "I know you're not gonna use these for shaving." I told him, seriousness evident in my voice.

He bit his lip, making eye contact with the counter.

I inhaled, my arm dropping but still retaining the strong grasp on the bag. "Can you lift up your sleeve?" I quietly requested.

He didn't move for a few seconds, and I was expecting him not to do it.

He brought his trembling hand to the hem of his sleeve, slowly raising the fabric off of his arm.

My breath hitched at the sight - horizontal cuts lined his forearm, contrasting with his pale skin. Some were bright red, others faded and more brownish.

"Oh my god." I muttered, gently reaching out, my palm resting on the outside of his wrist, steadying his arm.

"I'm sorry." he softly apologized, pain etched into his voice. I looked up to see a tear rolling down his cheek, eyes downcast.

"Jaemin," my heart slowly sunk to my stomach. "Stay the night."
