"You do?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I'll tell you at home. Do you want to stay over at mine?"
"Yeah, sure. I'm just gonna text my mom."
Message to Mom
Me: Hey, mom. I'm going to stay over at Blair's, okay?
Mom: That's okay, sweetie. Just make sure to use protection.
Me: Mom. What the fuck. No. Just...stop.
Blair looked at my phone and laughed. "Your mom is amazing."
"Not when she does this."
We drove back to Blair's home. I sat on the couch and Blair laid her head on my shoulder. "Isn't it crazy how we know each other just for three days and we're already a couple. Are we going to fast?" Blair asked.
I frowned, not knowing how to answer that question. "I don't know. Maybe. We can see how things work out."
Blair nodded. It stayed quiet for a few minutes until I spoke up. Blair promised me to tell me why the guys were acting so weird.
"What did you want to tell me? With the guys and stuff. Why were they acting like that?"
Blair sat up and sighed, looking down. "Don't freak out but when you were still in prison I was in the same group Brian, Alex and Justin are in now. They're called The Hopeless Ones. I didn't want to continue being a part of them, I always felt bad for people when we robbed them. The others didn't care at all because they would get their money. I ran away and never came back. That's when the boss send someone to murder me because he didn't want me to rat them out. He send Brian, Alex and Justin. They had just joined at that time. I had to run from them a few times before you came along. It was kinda awkward to see them again. "Blair explained. "I actually thought they were gonna kill me on the spot." she laughed a little.
I looked down at my hands and tried to process everything.
"So what are we gonna do now? Do you want me to talk to the guys?" I asked.
Blair shrugged. "I don't know if I want them to know you know. I don't think I can get out of this one to be honest."
I looked at Blair. "What? I'm not gonna let them kill you."
"Lyndsey, you don't know how much of a risk I took by running away. It was so dangerous. If I wasn't careful I would be already dead."
I sighed and shook my head. "I thought that when I got out of prison I would be able to live a normal life but I guess not."
"Well, I'm sorry that I fucked up in the past and that you're in this too now." Blair said.
I looked back up at her and held her hands. "That's not what I meant. Everything is just so fucked up."
Blair nodded and bot her lip. "I know but we have each other, right?"
I smiled a little. "Yes, we do. We'll get through this. Don't worry. I'm gonna talk to the guys whether you like it or not. We're gonna work this out."
Blair hesitated but eventually nodded. I smiled and pecked her lips. "I'm gonna call them. Can they come over or should we meet them somewhere else?"
"Maybe it's for the best if they don't know where I live. Well, maybe they already do know. You should probably meet them somewhere else. Maybe at the park you saw Brian?"
I nodded and dialed Brian's number. The phone rang for a while until I heard Brian's voice.
"Hey dude. What's up?"
"I was wondering if you would like to meet me at the park. I need to talk to you about something."
It was silent for a few seconds until Brian answered.
"Justin and I can't come now but Alex can." he said.
I nodded but realised Brian couldn't see me. "Uhm..yeah okay. He can come."
"Okay, bye."
I ended the call and turned back to Blair. "Brian can't meet me right now but Alex can. I'm just gonna tell him."
Blair nodded. "You should go. I'll just stay here."
I had a feelings that I shouldn't leave Blair alone but I nodded anyway and left after kissing Blair goodbye.
I started thinking as I walked to the park. Was it a good idea to ask the guys to leave Blair alone? Would they actually listen?
I reached the park and waited for Alex to arrive.
"Lynn."
I turned around and saw Alex. "Hey, Alex." I hugged him.
I sighed. "So, uhm.....the reason I wanted to talk to you guys is Blair. She told me about the group and that the boss wants you to kill her. Don't do it, please. She doesn't deserve it."
Alex looked at me in shock but then looked down at his hands and started fiddling with them. I had never seen him this nervouse before.
"Alex, what's wrong?" I asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
His eyes met mine and I saw sadness in them. "Alex, what's going on?"
He sighed. "Brian and Justin are going to Blair's house right now. They were going to finish the job.
