Chapter Five

We finally pulled up in the driveway of what I thought was Blairs house.

We got out of the car and Blair led me to her front door.

She stepped inside before me, closing the door behind me.

"Thanks again for picking me up. I had no one else to call."

"It's okay. You can call me anytime."

I nodded and smiled a little. At least someone cared.

Blair smiled and took my hand, leading me over to what I assumed was the bathroom.

"W-what are you doing?" I stuttered, suddenly feeling very nervous.

"You have bruises all over your face and I need to take care of them."

I nodded, sitting down on the counter next to the sink.

Blair cleaned up the wound. When she was done she pulled me back downstairs.

"So, what do you want to do."

"Uhm..I don't know. Can we just take a walk."

"Lynn, it's still raining out there. I'm not getting sick from going on a midnight stroll with you. Normally I would love to but now, no thanks."

I laughed a little. "Well, a movie it is."

We sat down on the couch and Blair put on some movie I hadn't heard about. That's probably not weird since I've been locked up for two years.

When the movie was done, I looked over at Blair and saw she fell asleep on my shoulder.

"Blair? Blair?" I whispered, trying to wake her up.

She stirred and made herself even more comfortable on my shoulder.

I sighed, slowly standing up without walking Blair up. It wasn't raining anymore outside and I wasn't going to let my chance go to take a walk.

I grabbed a notebook out of my backpack along with a pen and wrote a little note to Blair for when she would wake up before I was back.

I put it on the coffee table in front of her and walked out the door after grabbing my phone and putting a blanket on Blair.

I walked around until I found some park a few streets away from where Blair lived. I sat down on a bench and let my legs bounce on the ground. It was a nervous habit I had but I didn't know why I was doing it now.

I felt like someone was watching me.

I didn't look behind me at all because I knew if I did, I would start imagining things and scare myself.

I would do that since I was a kid. Everytime I looked into the darkness O I would imagine a monster I saw somewhere and I would think it was actually there. I would run to my parents, screaming my lungs out and asking them for help. When I became a teenager I was more into the paranormal stuff. I still am but now I'm a little less scared of it.

"Lyndsey Gunnulfsen. Long time no see." a person said. The voice was familiar. Like I hadn't heard it in years.

"Who are you? Why do you know who I am?" I stood up, looking into the darkness under a tree where the voice came from.

"Don't you remember me?"

The person steppes into the moonlight, causing me to gasp, a smile appearing on my face.

"Brian!" I yelled.

"Lyndsey!!!!" Brian squealed, running over to me and hugging me.

"God, you scared me for a second."

"I know. That's what I meant to do. Mission complete I guess. I wanted to sound mysterious."

I smiled. "How are you? How are Alex and Justin?"

"I'm the same as two years ago. Alex is good too but Justin's mother died just a few days ago. He's going though a hard time."

"Aw, tell him I'm sorry for his loss."

"Uh, Lynn. Thank you. For not ratting us out to the cops. We really owe you. I couldn't have wished for a better friend." Brian said, tears present in his eyes.

I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly, rubbing his back.

"It's okay, Brian. I love you guys. That's why I didn't rat you out."

"You lost two years of your life because of me and Alex, Lynn."

"No, that's not true, Brian. I decided to join you guys. It was my own fault."

"I can't help but feel guilty, Lynn."

"I know, bootyman. It's okay."

Brian laughed at the old nickname we used to give him.

"Lynn, use that nickname one more time and I'l sue you."

"I'll be ready, bootyman."
