Miss Me? A Fairy Tail Fanfiction (Hiatus?)

Chapter Eight

"Now... The time has come to meet our competitors. First up, in eighth place, an old school bunch of wild wizards from Magnolia. They had luck in the prelims and now they are rearing to take back first place by force, it's Fairy Tail!" The man announces. I hear boos and I back up.

"I don't think I can do this. Big crowds aren't my thing." I say, backing into Mira.

"You'll be fine, Liz. We got second." Mira states. I turn around and face her.

"But, Natsu won't like this." I reason. Mira sweetly smiles.

"You are looking for his approval." Mira states. I cross my arms and scoff.

"He may be older, but I don't need his approval." I argue, looking away.

"You totally are looking for his approval. You are so scared he is going to reject you." Mira challenges. I scoff and wave a finger in her face. I'm so angry, I am crying.

"What do you except? I was abandoned, all alone, until I found my mother. My brother had just left me. You have no clue what it was like being an orphan, every kid in town gives you a hard time cause you have no family. You know what! I'm going to give Natsu a piece of my mind!" I shout. I wipe my tears.

"Our first place runner up is... Oh, wow! What a surprise! This year's competion just got a whole lot more interesting, folks." The announcer states. Laxus' makes a Fairy Tail mark with his lightening and we walk out. "It's Fairy Tail, Team B!"

I charge at Natsu. "I dislike you very much right now! I challenge you to a duel, brother!" I shout. Natsu gives me a questioning look.

"I don't think I did anything wrong, did I?" Natsu asks. I hear the announcer announce Sabertooth. I internally groan. I turn around and see Sting. I kick him in his sensitive spot and turn back to Natsu.

"I can deal with you later. I won't be able to beat on him for a while." I state. Natsu stumbles back, scared. I feel the fire burning in my eyes. My anger always was my strongest feature. I turn around to beat up Sting but I am held back by some arms. I look up to see Mira, Laxus, and Erza holding me back. I push against their arms. "Let me at him! Let me at him!" I yell. The crowd laughs. I look at Natsu. He looks at me and realization clouds his vision.

"Get her outta here! She is becoming unstable!" Natsu shouts, bolting to his feet. He grabs my scarf and drags me away from the colesiem. I try to pull away from him but for some reason, I can't. I feel my body begin to warp. Natsu places me on a soft surface.

"Let me a... h... i... m..." I gasp. I feel tears and I start convulsing. Then, everything goes black.

I wake up to hot hands. "Crap." I gasp. I sit up. Natsu sits on the edge of a rock. "Did... did I hurt anyone?"

"No. I got you out of town fast enough." Natsu states.

"We gotta get back." I state. I stand and pull my scarf back on. "Did I burn, again?"

"Yes. You may not be a fire dragon slayer, but you still use some sort of fire magic." Natsu states. I nod.

"I'm gonna go train, wanna come?" I ask. "If not, let my team know I'll be back in the morning."

"I think I'll head back. See you tomorrow." Natsu shouts. I wave and he runs off. I look at my surroundings. A small meadow surrounded in trees, Natsu knows me so well.

I place my hands on a tree trunk. Feel for the power of the tree and become one with it. Respect the tree and it will respect you. I smile. I connect with the trees energy and send my power into the tree, bending the plant. I pull my hands away. I bend it the other direction. I restore it back to it's original state. I sit in the middle of the meadow. I feel the ethernano in the air around me. I swirl it around me and feel my chest heat up. My hands combust. I grin.

"I did it." I gasp. I smile and think of Natsu's swordhorn. I laugh. I focus on the warmth in my chest and light my hands and feet. I stand. Closing my eyes, I focus. I speed up the growth of every plant around me. I open my eyes to see all the grass and flowers twice the height they were before. I restore the plants.

I raise my hands above my head. "Fire Dragon, Drill." Nothing happens. I groan.

"Nature Fire Dragon: Drill?" I ask. My body in engulfed in green flames, I gasp and fall back, the flames disappearing. "I did it. Maybe I am part fire dragon slayer." I smirk.

"Nature Fire Dragon, Roar!" I shout. A flicker of green fire erupts from my mouth. I frown. Maybe... I just need more practice. Ya, that's it. I exit the meadow and find myself out of the forest. I look up to see the sun rising over the horizon. "Maybe, the spell unlocked this green fire?"

"Yeah, I bet that's it." I say. I walk back into Crocus. I find the hotel. I flop onto the ground and fall asleep.

I feel cold liqud on my head. I shoot up. "Who did that!" I shout. I look up to see Natsu holding a bucket over me. "You little fire eating punk!" I chase Natsu out of the room, now drenched in water.
