chapter 10:The capital

We stayed by a campfire that night,and for awhile all we did was just look at the stars..not talking at all....well until Andrew broke the silence

"So...any idea where we are going?"
I looked at him and laughed
"I thought you knew where?how should I know?"
His eyes widened in panic
"S-so we're just going to nowhere!?"
I laughed a bit more
"I'm kidding with you,of course I know where,we're going to the capital" I told him
He looked confused
"Whats that?"
"Well..how can I explain this...its a huge city where almost all the clans go when in trouble,or looking for peace...its like a giant no killing each other zone"
He nodded
"I've only ever been there once.." I said
"But why build a city?"
"My mom told me once that its because of this huge metal thing that crashed here from the sky,many moons ago,I think its probably just built by some nut jobs"
Andrew chuckled
"Ya,sounds awesome"
"It is!its like a-as tall as a mountain!" I said
"Now I really want to see it" Andrew chuckled
"You know what also cool about it?apparently a whole religion was built around it and they worship it"
Andrew tilted his head
"Why?its just a big piece of metal"
"Well,kinda,when I was there my mom pointed out some strange words on the side of the thing"
"Oh what did it say?"
"I couldn't tell,its some weird language,but from what my mom said I think it says something about 'mars' "
Andrew tilted his head
"Mars?....why does..that sound so familiar?"
I looked at him a little confused
"You've heard that before?" I asked
He looked just as confused as me
"I-i think so"
I laughed
"Hay maybe the priest in the capital know more"
He nodded and layed back onto his blanket
"I rather look for answers about what happened to my home" he said looking up at the sky
I sighed and layed down aswell and looked up
We layed there for awhile...in complete silence
The only sound being the crickets and the wind in the trees

I kinda like this,the quiet and the stars above
It just..it feels better than being under a roof..in a dark home
Even though im still getting use to it..I really like the sun
Its warm and bright
It gives life
It gives hope and happiness

"You see those stars shadow...?" Andrew asked
I looked up at to what he was pointing at to see a weird batch of stars,they look so lonely being so far apart from the other stars
"Ya I see them"
"My mom..s...she use to talk about them so often..she made story up about them when I couldn't sleep..." he spoke..pain in his voice
But before I could talk he spoke
"S-she would make up storys of a green and red planet" he said
I looked at him,letting him continue
"She would talk about the green planet being a mean bully" he chuckled
"And the red one,the one that got picked on...but would then tell me about how they became friends after they had hurt each other...I never understood that,how did they become friends after they hurt each other...and then she would tell me that no matter how much you hurt someone,or they hurt you...they still have good in them"
I smiled slightly and moved over to him
"Your mom has a good imagination" I told him and hugged him
