chapter 12 part 2: pillar

Wise and kind my grandpa said he would answer any questions we have to the best of his abilities

I just hope we can find out why this all happened to andrew

"-and shadow brought me here...i-i just want to know why...why me,why my people" andrew said,knowing his question could probably go unanswered
"Hmm....andrew I may be old,I may know a lot of this world and her people...but I'm sorry,but I cant tell you why"
The answer they knew they would get
"But-" he continued
"I know something that could help lead you in the right direction" he said getting up
"Follow me"
He led them outside,and pointed towards the pillar
"That structure hold all the answers you seek,and the people who worship it could help you"
Andrew nodded a bit,in the back of his mind he knew that there a very low chance that any of this would help him
"Ezreald,thank you" andrew said
"I'm sorry I couldn't help you more andrew"
"Its okay grandpa,at least we have a lead!" Shadow said with a smile
The old void walker laughed a bit at her enthusiasm
"Well andrew,as long as shadow is by your side,I'm sure you'll reach your goal in no time"

They nodded and went off

It took us....maybe two hours to get to where we were going,the pillar
This massive structure that lies in the centre of the city
No one knows what its made of or where its from
They only know it has immense energy that its willing to share
Me and andrew where worries about talking with the worshipper,they...didn't have the best of reputations

I looked at them,weird wolfs
Dressed in white robes,the symbol of their faith right in the middle
Shadow looked at me and smiled a bit
"Ill talk"
She said before turning back to the worshippers and shouting
"W-we want to know more" they all stopped and looked at us,the same reactions as the guards at the gate
Some eventually moved back to what they where doing,others looked at us with curiosity
Only one stepped forward to talk with us
"Welcome young ones,what do you seek from the pillar?" The wolf asked me
"A-answers" I stuttered out
He smiled
"That I shall answer your questions best I can"

I sighed,where to start
I wasn't about to spill my story to this man,but I would ask about what this...thing is

"This is what many call the pillar,we worship this god like vessel and its power day and night hoping that one day it accepts us as its people"

What?

"What do you mean?"
"You see,we discovered many years ago that the pillar is hollow,well not completely,and that it once accepted a fortunate soul into its embrace many many years ago,and when it did a great light emitted from its holy hull and took him in-"

Oh boy...their crazy

"-so my young friend,do you wish to enter this vessel"
Uhh
"I-i don't know" I said to him
He smiled,but when he did he actually took a better look at me and his smile dropped

"Your part of the iron clan,i-its been years since one of your kin came here,please young one let me lead your to our holy vessel"
I looked at shadow who shrugged

I sighed and nodded
"Great!follow me" the strange wolf said and walked off toward a large scaffolding next to the pillar

We climbed up on it till we reached its top,not that high up but still scared me
He stood next to me looking at the clear surface of the pillar
"Now press your paw against it" he said

I sighed
Lets just get this over with and go to the next place
I lifted my paw and put it against its surface
