Avery's POV

I quickly try and shove the food in my mouth and get this over with as soon as possible.

I don't look at any of the guys and don't say anything either.

I can hear most of them laughing and talking about different things together. I don't pay attention but it's probably things like girls and football I'm guessing. But I didn't know any of these boys so I had no right to go and judge them.

"You'd should introduce her to Avery." Callum says while shoving a giant piece of his dinner in his mouth leaving a piece next to his lip.

My head lifts as I hear my name make its way into their conversation.

"I don't know.." I say thoughtfully. "I'm not really one for friends." I tell them bluntly. I'm not sure who they were talking about but I didn't know if I'd like her. Or she'd like me. Maybe I'd find me another Mona and get lucky. Or maybe I'd find another Lilliana who'd stab me in the back.

I hear a snort and look to my left and see Keegan glaring at me. "She'd corrupt Sawyer." He states simply. I didn't say anything to that. He was right. I probably would.

"Don't be a dick, Keegan." Dawson says glaring back. My head turns to look at him so fast that I have to reach my hand up and rub my neck.

Was he...standing up for me? Did that mean we were friends or something now?

"Sawyers not like that anyway. She'd love to meet you Avery." Elliot says.

"God, you two are perfect for each other." My eyes widen as Victor actually contributes to the conversation. He was so quiet throughout dinner I actually considered that he'd left.

"You two are so alike, it's weird." Victor adds.

I guess Sawyer and Elliot were dating then.

The statement brings a wide smile to Elliot's face. His light blue eyes were sparkling with love and adoration as he most likely thought about her.

Without thinking my mouth opens and I surprise myself when words come out.

"You guys been together a long time?" I ask with a polite smile.

I was never one to start a conversation with someone. If I ever held one they'd have to be a hell of a kind person.

"A year on Christmas Eve." He says his smile widening to a full blown grin.

I'm quite surprised when I repeat the gesture.
***
It was Sunday now and apparently the boys had a tradition where they all did something together as a kind of family bonding thing. I thought it was cute that they were so close to each other and that they actually spent time together. That they actually loved each other. Even if they treated each other like shit sometimes, *cough* Keegan *cough*.

I decided to stay home. Even though Dawson threatened to kidnap me and Elliot gave this whole speech on how he and the rest of the boys genuinely wanted me to join them on their night out.

Axel said he'd flirt with me until I changed my mind but gave up when I said I'd kick him in the balls.

By that time they had to leave. And they did.
