Avery's POV

My knuckle makes contact with the girls face once again.

"Don't" I slam her already bleeding head against the row of blue lockers as hard as I can and pull at her dark brown hair causing her to scream.

"Ever" I lift my knee and jam it at her stomach hoping to leave a bruise.

"Talk" I raise my fist and swing at her nose. Blood trickles down quickly, dripping on her lips and falling to her red top. Maybe it'll blend in.

"About" This time I shove her shoulders into the lockers. Specifically a lock.

"My" Lifting my bruises knuckle I hit her jaw and hear something crack.

"Cousin" Pushing her into the locker one final time, hard might I add.

"Again" Yanking her chin up so she looks at me I smile sweetly and push her to the ground.

"Don't fuck with Eva anymore. Spread the word." I say in the most sadistic voice I could muster up.

There was no one around us as I made sure to get the girl alone after school ended. Most teachers head home and the guards weren't in the halls but at the dorms mainly.

I wasn't around to teach this chick a lesson when she decided it'd be fun to tease my cousin and make racist comments to her for being mixed.

Eva was adopted when she was three years old by my mothers sister. I didn't talk to her due to her being on my mothers side of the family. But she was still my cousin and a good person who didn't deserve all the shit the kids around here gave her.

So I was kicking this racist bitches ass.

I'm sure me popping that bitch in the mouth will teach her to shut it next time.

I shake my hand and wipe the blood off on my plain black t-shirt. At least none of it was mine.

I decide to head back to the dorms so I can clean up and grab something to eat. Last time I had a full meal was like, a whole two hours ago. I needed a damn cookie or something.

On my way back I pass a girl who stares at me incredulously. Her jaw drops and eyes widen to the size of saucers. She drops whatever was in her hand and uses her right hand to push up the large framed glasses on her nose.

"You saw nothing." I state with a scowl on my face. She shakes her head in what I assume is fear and bolts past me and down the hall.

I rush past a few students in the dormitory hallways and swing the door open when I reach our flat.

Things around this school when it came to living arrangements were...odd to say the least.

Eight students were grouped together and given what was like an apartment. There were four bedrooms and four bathrooms as well as a kitchen and a living space.

The place was pretty big actually. Money meant a lot around here. It got you places. And to stay out of other places, like prison.

I see Evelyn, Nora, and Amy sitting on the couch while laughing together and watching some trashy reality TV. While it was stupid and way too dramatic, it was addicting. Watching other people's drama was always more entertaining than to be the one having to deal with it.

Nora waves at me and smiles widely like usual. I raise my hand and wave it slightly . I don't return the smile though.

Evelyn rolls her eyes at me and Amy just ignores my presence. I wasn't close with any of the girls around here. Other than my best friend, Mona.

In fact I rarely made conversation with any of them. I was pretty closed off and didn't make an effort to have anything to do with them. I didn't need any one else. Girls at this school were drama anyways.

All the kids at this school were drama really. So I never talked to any of them. I avoided them. And it was nice.

I make my way to the kitchen and immediately walk to the sink and rinse away all the blood. I notice a few small cuts here and there but don't worry too much about them.

The bruising seemed to have increased through. My hand was swelling up more but I ignored it. It'd probably go down in a few days anyways so I didn't need to fret about it.

After washing away most traces of me beating that girls ass, I walk over to the fridge and look around before deciding on chicken nuggets.

Mona always teased me about my obsession with the cute little Dino nuggets I had at least three times a week. It was unhealthy, really. But that shit was amazing. And I was here for a good time, not a long time, so here come the nuggets.

I was too hungry and lazy to wait 20 minutes and make them in the toaster oven so I opted for the microwave instead.  It only took a good two minutes which was way better than the alternatives.

I dump a good amount of the nuggets on a plate before shoving them into the microwave. I pick at my black nail polish and await the beep.

I hear the door to the kitchen swing open. Turning my head I look over and see Mona walking in.

"Hey hoe." She says. I laugh.

"Sup bitch?" I reply back.

Mona Oliver had been my best friend since sophomore year of high school. I met her at a party where I found her totally shitfaced. She ended up vomiting on me. Twice.
I took her back to my dorm at the time anyways to let her sleep it off. I made enough stupid decisions when i was drunk and figured I'd help the poor girl out. She apologized to me the next morning and annoyed me for the next month or so until I gave in and decided to be friends. Best decision ever.

Mona was the only person I felt comfortable around. The only one I opened my cold exterior up to and could let loose with.

"You'll never gu-" Mona stops whatever she was saying as her eyes scan my hands.

"Where's the body?" She whispers dramatically. "You know what? Never mind. I'll grab the acid and machete, you get the trash bags and fill my car up with gas."

For a minute, I think she's joking. And then I see her completely serious face.

I smile at the thought that she'd help clean up the body of someone I killed and then I laugh.

"Thanks Mona but I didn't kill her. Just...scolded her. With my fists. A lot. But she'll be fine, I'm sure."

"Well, you know who your girl is when you do end up..ya know..." she closes her eyes and sticks out her tongue.

"You're so melodramatic sometimes I swear."

"But you love me." She says back with a small smile.

Yeah. I do.
