Episode 7: Morpheus Asia

---Becca's POV---
"These again," Abby grumbled. "They made real waking world versions." Our suits from special occasions in Morpheus were remade for the conference. I walked over to her and sighed. Our cubicles were next to each other and the walls were thin.

"Listen," I said. "I just wanted to talk to you about going into the underworld during the harvest moon." I got a picture sent to me on Instagram. It was from Abby  and she shot a look towards me. It was worse than the look I got from mom when I stole her credit card. That can't be good.

"We'll talk about it later." Abby snarled. A chill went down my spine. I have never seen Abby like this before.

At the conference, we were all sitting around shouting at each other.

"Dieses Monster ist nicht nur eine Gefahr für Morpheus," A higher up from Germany shouted. "Sondern für die Menschheit als Ganzes!"

"Je dis que nous arrêtons la personne qui a créé ce démon!" A French higher up thundered. "Nous vous regardons Canadien!"

"Я говорю, мы берем его и разрезаем!" A Russian higher up shouted.

"I didn't create him!" Abby shouted. "It was the Greek God of the under world, Hades!" The Greek higher ups all gasped.

"You know what that French guy said?" Jaiden asked.

"I took French from grade 4 to 8." Abby said. "I also know the German said that my demon is a threat. When your father has German dealers, you know these things."

"What did the Russian say?" James asked.

"No idea." Abby said. Suddenly, Haley busted into the room in her uniform and a book in hand. Everybody from Morpheus HQ was unamused. All the other higher ups from the other Morpheus bases made an uproar.

"How does this not phase you?!" Ami Yamitoto shouted at me.

"This is a regular Tuesday at HQ." I replied.

"Who allowed this joke to come in?!" Seo Hyune-u shouted. Seo Hyune-u was the head of Asia 1. He expects everybody at Asia 1 to be mature and professional. If he ran Morpheus, nothing would get done. Asia 1 is actually the lowest ranked when it comes to recruitment because if that person doesn't meet Seo's standards, they get sent to Asia 2 or HQ.

"Shut it Seo." Haley snarled. Haley and Seo have always had a feud. Who knew that two people who are completely opposite to each other can hate each other so much.

"Does your mom know you are here?" Abby asked.

"Yes," Haley said. "She thinks I came with Apple Dealer and her mom."

"I recruited Haley to see if there is a way to get to the underworld before the harvest moon without being dead." Mark said. "What did you find?"

"I found this in the library at Soñador." Haley said. "This is an old text from Achillies. He stated that to get to the underworld, you must be granted permission by Zeus. In order to get to Zeus, you have to climb up Mount Nyx. This mountain only exists in the dream world."

"How long does it take?" Abby asked.

"Three nights." Haley replied.

"Great," Abby said. "We just have to go to HQ and find a map."

"Abby," I said. "Maybe you should wait until..."

"No," Abby said. "I know what you are gonna say, and the longer we wait, the stronger he gets."

"Kanske vår ledare har rätt," Felix said. "Vi borde vänta på att skördmånen stiger upp."

"Zip it Felix." Abby snarled. Abby ripped the badge off her uniform and tossed it to the ground.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked.

"I quit Morpheus." Abby said. She stormed out of the conference room.

"Dismissed." I said. I chased after Abby.

---Abby's POV---
I woke up at the Morpheus Asia 2 base. I thought Zeus knew I quit. The Morpheus symbol was still on my arm. I decided to see if there was a map to Mount Nyx anywhere. I saw one at the library.

"Looks like I can leave from here." I mumbled to myself. I pulled out my shot gun and set out for Mount Nyx. Richard Paul Evens once said your challenges, if you let them, will become your greatest allies. Mountains can crush or raise you, depending on which side of the mountain you choose to stand on. All history bears out that the great, those who have changed the world, have all suffered great challenges. And, more times than not it's precisely those challenges that, in God's time, lead to triumph.

Well, defeating X will be a challenge, but it will be a great victory. I just need to get to Zeus, get to Hades, then get rid of X. I reached the base of Mount Nyx and looked up.

"Well," I said to myself. "I better start climbing." I looked at the mountain and gulped. I should of climbed the rock climbing wall in gym class... And during the team building exercise. I looked to my left and noticed a pathway. That is more convenient. I began to walk up the path. I knew I had to get to Zeus and get his permission to the underworld somehow.

"Abby!" I heard a familiar voice shout. I turned around to see someone running behind me. I couldn't make out who it was in the dark.

"Hello?" I asked. I slowly raised my shot gun.

"Abby!" She shouted again. "It's me!" My breathing became heavy. My heart was pounding. X could be playing tricks on me. After all, he is still my demon.

"How do I know you aren't X?" I asked.

"Abby," She said. "I have known you forever. Ask me anything."

"What is my full name?" I asked.

"Abigail Jasmine DeHaan." She said. "Come on, hit me with a harder question."

"What is my favourite song?" I asked. Only she knows my true favourite song. It is kind of embarrassing to tell anyone else.

"The Love Live season one theme," She replied. "Not Love Live Sunshine, it was the Love Live School Idol Project." I lowered my gun. X didn't know that, so it was who I thought it was.

"Holy shit." I said.
