Episode 8: Mount Nyx

---Abby's POV---
"Hi Abby." Surabhi said. She still looked the same as the day she died. I knew that thick Indian accent anywhere. However, I know X can mimic it, so I had to be sure. I placed my gun behind my back and hugged my best friend.

"I thought I would never see you again." I whispered.

"I'm here." Surabhi said. I let go and stepped back.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I heard you wanted to head up to Mount Nyx." Surabhi replied. "I understand you need Zeus to grant you permission to go to the underworld."

"Yeah," I said. "How did you know?"

"I happen to be one of the spirits protecting Nyx from demons." Surabhi stated. "I know you aren't one."

"I hope not." I said.

"Come on," Surabhi said. "We can go up together." I nodded and we continued walking up the mountain.

---Haley's POV---
"No sign of Abby at Morpheus North America," Mark said. "Should we check Asia 1 again?"

"Have we tried Morpheus Central-South America?" Rebecca asked. Abby didn't report to HQ. We wondered if she showed up at a different part of Morpheus. We tried everywhere we could think of. Nothing.

"Wait," I said. "Mount Nyx. She would be heading up Mount Nyx. Which Morpheus base is closest?"

"Asia 2." Mark replied. Rebecca grabbed her Katana and slung it onto her back.

"Rebecca?" I asked. "What are you doing?"

"You and I are going after Abby." Rebecca said. Suddenly, Mark's pager went insane.

"Mark!" Amy shouted. "Signe has shown up to HQ and had notified us that X and Anti have captured Jack! They've entered the waking world somehow Mark!"

"Calm down," Mark said. "I will be in the control room as soon as I send Rebecca and Haley to Asia 2."

"Why am I being dragged into this?!" I shouted.

"She's your cousin," Mark said. "Plus someone has to keep an eye on those two idiots."

"So you send another idiot?" I asked. Mark hesitated for a moment.

"I better send (First Name) also." Mark said. Mark opened a computer and typed in a few numbers. So that was how we get called. A few minutes later, (First Name) showed up to the control room.

"You needed me?" (First Name) asked.

"Yes," Mark said. "I am sending you with Rebecca and Haley to the Asia 2 base. From there, the three of you go an retrieve Abby from Mount Nyx."

"Mount Nyx?" (First Name) asked. (Prefered Pronoun) was still getting used to Morpheus. All of this is still new.

"Yes," Mark replied. "Abby went up to get access to the underworld. She needs Hades to tell her how to kill X."

"And I am going after her," Rebecca said. "She has been determined to kill X since the night in the..... Inner layer."

"You mean the night of the code blue?" I asked.

"Yeah." Rebecca said.

"Every time I try to bring it up," I said. "Abby avoids talking about it."

"X was taunting Abby using me." Rebecca said as we stepped in to the teleporter.

"That's why Abby didn't want you to go after her." I stated. "Abby didn't want you to get hurt."

"She's ten years my junior." Rebecca said. "Why is she being protective of me?"

"Just like why your mom would of beat the shit out of your theatre club bully if she could." I stated. "She cares. "

"Since when is Abby and care in the same sentence?" (First Name) asked.

"Abby may not show it," I replied. "But she does care for people despite killing that one girl."

"Abby killed someone?!" Rebecca shouted.

"We can explain that later." Mark said. "Zapping to Asia 2 in 10... 9.... 8..."

"When X was causing people to go insane," I said. "Abby actually killed our mission objective."

"7.... 6...." Mark counted.

"That's not like Abby at all." Rebecca stated.

"We know." (First Name) said.

"5... 4..." Mark continued.

"Oh," Rebecca said. "Put these glasses on." Becca handed us special sun glasses and we placed them on.

"3... 2.... 1...." Mark stated.

"Happy New Year!" I shouted.

"BLAST OFF!" Mark screamed. He pressed a button. Suddenly, there was a bright light. Followed by someone yelling in Japanese. I looked around. Asia 2 seems so technically advanced.

"Rebecca!" Someone shouted.

"Su Lee!" Becca shouted.

"I am so confused." (First Name) said.

"Su Lee runs Asia 2." Rebecca said. "Hey Lee, have you seen Abby wander around Asia 2 at all?"

"I think she was in the library." Su Lee replied. She lead us out to Asia 2's common area. It was like a Zen Garden. It even came with a giant rake. I grabbed it and started dragging it around.

"Haley," Becca said. "You need to focus, we're on a mission."

"Easy Rebecca." Su Lee said. "She is just becoming calm." I looked up to see a figure looking at us. It seemed to be shaped like a fox.

"Abby," the figure said. "My human. My trainer. My friend."

"Hey Knight." I said. I knew it was an Umbreon. Abby loves Umbreon. She owns a lot of pokedolls of that Pokèmon. All authentic.

"Haley." Knight said stepping out of the shadows. Rebecca jumped.

"Why does Abby like this one?" Rebecca asked.

"That," I said. "We don't know. He just looks cool."

"Her childhood consisted of watching her brother play this game called Glades of Darkness." Knight said. "It was a Pokèmon game for the game cube."

"Shadow Lugia is cool." I said.

"So why are you here?" Rebecca asked.

"Cause I guard the gardens at night." Knight replied. "I can tell you where Abby went. Surabhi followed her."

"Towards Mount Nyx." (First Name) said.

"She swung by the library first." Knight said. "The map was in there."

"So in other words," Rebecca said. "We can't get there."

"Unless you know which star to follow," Knight stated. "No."

"Do you know Knight?" I asked.

"Yes." Knight replied. "Let me wake up another Umbreon and I will lead you to Mount Nyx."

"Thank you." Rebecca said. All three of us bowed to Knight. Knight bowed back and went off.
