Love Story [COMPLETED]

Chapter Six ~ A Normal Ski Day?

After I showered and got dressed, I went downstairs. I said good morning to everyone. I also noticed Blake, sitting there grumpy looking.

"What were you yelling about this morning?" I asked him.

"Someone stole my skis." He said, looking at me accusingly.

"I'm sorry! I'll keep an eye out for them!" I said kindly, pretending not to notice the death glare. His face softened a bit, but he immediately covered it.

"Thanks." He muttered gruffly. I walked away, and wandered over to Michael and Mindy.

"Hi!" Michael said with a smile, I smiled back. I noticed that he and Mindy were holding hands under the table. I grinned. After we ate breakfast, we were getting ready to ski.

Kris walked over to me and gave me a scarf.

"It's really cold today, use this!" He said, smiling at me.

"Thanks!" I said, watching him as he walked away.

"Should I be worried?" Tao asked, walking up to me.

"Oh, no, of course not!" I said, smiling at him. He returned the smile and put his arms around me, giving me a hug. I smiled and hugged him back.

Before we boarded the gondola, we heard a very loud banging noise. I looked over at the cabin, when suddenly, there was a huge explosion. I flung forward, and crashed into a tree. I fell into the snow, unconscious.

Kris was walking away from the gondola to get the rest of the skis, when suddenly, he heard a very loud banging noise. Then an explosion. He turned just in time to see the gondola burst into flames, and to see Rae get flung into a tree. She fell into the snow, limp.

"RAE!!!" He screamed, running towards her. When he reached her, he gently took her in his arms and checked her pulse. It was still there. He looked around for the others, they were all either in shock or unconscious themselves.

"Rae?? Rae!!!" Tao yelled, running towards them. "Get away from her!" He cried, moving to take her from him. Kris was about to say no, when suddenly, a giant creature jumped down from a branch and landed near them. It gave a yell, and lunged towards Kris. He held Rae tighter, to protect her and to brace for impact.

Suddenly, Tao ran and tackled him, pushing him and Rae to safety. They watched as the creature fell over the cliff, and heard it land with a crash.

"Thanks!" Kris said, looking at Tao.

"It was nothing. Now please give me my girlfriend!" He said, reaching for Rae. Everything in him wanted to stop him, but Rae started to wake up.

"Tao!" She said, reaching for him. Kris' heart broke yet again. He watched as Tao took her in his arms and carried her away. Away from him. He tried hard to fight back the tears.

"I got you, it's ok, you're safe!" He heard Tao saying.

"This is getting more terrible every minute!" He thought, as he watched Tao bring her inside the cabin.
