Love Story [COMPLETED]

Chapter Seven ~ Danger

My head hurt really bad, I leaned it against Taos' shoulder as he carried me upstairs to our bedroom. He laid me down on the bed and went into the bathroom, when he came back out, he was carrying an ice pack.

"Why was that in the bathroom?" I asked him. He smiled at me.

"It's from when you hurt your knee. Here, lay back!" He said, gently helping me to lay down. He gently placed the pack on my forehead, I smiled at him. He smiled back, and then gently kissed me. I tilted my head so he could kiss me better, then after, he leaned his forehead against mine.

"Are you ok now?" He asked me, stroking my cheek.

"Yes!" I whispered, closing my eyes and basking in his love. He laid down next to me and held me close.

"You need to rest now!" He said, kissing me again. I nodded and snuggled in against him. I was about to fall asleep, when we suddenly heard Toby yelling.

"Tao!!! We need your help!!! Hurry up!!!!" He called, Tao sat up.

"I'm coming!" He called back.

"I'm coming too!" I said, starting to get up.

"No, you need to rest! I'll be back soon!" Tao said, and before I could say anything, he kissed me and went out. I sighed. I laid back down and started to think.

Kris looked really heartbroken when I woke up and called for Tao. I did love him, I always loved him. So what held me back for so long? Tao, I realized. Tao was the reason I held back! At school, I had noticed every little thing. The way he'd watch me, those little secret glances I'd catch him staring at me with. I had started to realize that I had feelings for him too!

But that presented me with a problem. Tao, or Kris? I had known Kris for longer, Tao was a relatively new student. I also realized that I had never officially said yes to Tao, it all had happened so fast! But I didn't regret it, I realized. I loved Tao, a lot. I also loved Kris still, but I had chosen Tao. I was his, and he was mine. I needed to tell him that!

I tried to get up but my head started to hurt again. "Ooowwwww!" I said, laying back down. Just then, I heard gunshots and mini explosions. I started to freak out! I tried to get up again, but my head hurt! Just then, Michael burst in.

"Rae! You have to come with me!" He said, picking me up.

"What's going on? Where's Toby? And Mindy? And where's Tao? Is Tao ok?" I asked, starting to freak out.

"They're ok! They're going to the caves, with Blake and Erica! We're meeting them there!" He said, I put my arms around his neck to keep from falling.

"What about Dex and Lydia and Kris?" I asked, suddenly starting to worry about them.

"I don't know, we lost them!" Michael said, sounding upset. I started to freak out, what was going on? And what were those creatures? When we got to the caves, Michael carried me through the passageways, then we came to a door. He knocked on it three times, then Toby opened it.

"Michael! Rae!!!" He said, as we came in. He immediately gave me a hug. I hugged him back, trying not to cry.

"It's ok, it's ok, I've got you!" He whispered, rubbing my back. Mindy ran over and hugged me too, I hugged them both tightly.

"Rae!" I heard Tao say, I ran over to him and hugged him. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist, and we kissed.

"Ok, guys, there's no time for kissing, we have to survive!" We heard Blake say. Tao glared over at him. "What, you want to fight?" Blake asked, returning the glare.

"With a tweakondo expert? Good luck!" Mindy muttered, giving Blake a glare of her own.

"Guys, stop it! If we want to survive then we need to get along!" Toby said. Blake and Tao gave each other one last glare, making me roll my eyes, then we turned our attention to Toby.

"We have to find the others!" He said, "before those things get them!"

"Does anyone know what they are?" I asked, looking around the room at everyone.

"No, but they look like giant brown bat things!" Erica said, shuddering a bit.

I looked around, "is this room secure?" I asked, eyeing the windows.

"Yes, we made sure of it!" Mindy told me. I nodded.

"I'm going to go look for the others! Stay here!" Toby said, as he started to go out.

"Toby!" I called, running over to him. "You shouldn't go alone!" Mindy nodded, agreeing with me.

"Rae, don't even think about it!" Tao said, walking over and putting his hand on my shoulder.

"Tao, I'll be fine!" I started, but Toby interrupted me.

"Tao's right. You're not coming! You have to stay here!" He said. I rolled my eyes.

"I want to go too! I want to help our friends!" I tried, but Toby was shaking his head.

"No, you hurt your head. You're staying here!" He said, with finality.

"I'll go with you, Toby!" Michael said. Toby nodded and they both went out and shut the door behind them.

"Now what?" Mindy asked.

"Now I guess we wait!" Tao said. I sighed and sat down. We waited for about two hours, but Toby and Michael never showed up. Neither did anyone else! I was convinced that something was wrong.

"I'm going to go look around!" I said, getting up.

"Rae, no! You can't! I don't want you to get hurt again!" Tao said, jumping up and grabbing my forearms.

"I'm not weak! I can go and be back in less then an hour!" I told him. Tao tried to protest, but I said, "you can't stop me!" And I walked out and closed the door behind me.
