A S T R I D
I watched Hiccup from the distance as he laughed with Valka. Those two are amazing. They share the same passion for dragons, and are full of surprises. I smiled as I studied Hiccup's gorgeous features like his emerald green eyes, his soft auburn hair, or his breathtaking smile. It's amazing how Hiccup can make me feel this way.
"Hey Astrid wanna go pound some trees?" Tuff asks.
"Sure, I guess" I said before standing up and leaving the Great Hall with the others.
...
"Wow you guys weren't kidding when you said you'd pound the trees" I said watching the others punch the trees.
"What did you think when we said 'pounding the trees'?" Snotlout asks.
"Pounding it my style, you know, with axes?" I say.
"Weak" He mumbles.
"Hey now listen here, my axe is my pride and joy so unless you want your head cut off, you keep your mouth shut and back away, Snot" I snarled.
He walked closer to me.
"Make me" He smirked and I tackled him to the ground. I started wrestling with him. We rolled and rolled while the others cheered for me. They knew I would win this anyway.
Few moments later, I was able to pin Snotlout down on his belly, with me holding his left arm with my left knee and bending his right arm backwards slowly.
"Am I still weak? Jorgenson?!" I ask.
"YES" he replies.
I heard someone clear their throat and we all looked to see Valka and Hiccup. I widened my eyes and quickly got up brushing myself.
"I see your fiancè's got strength in her, I like that" Valka smiles at Hiccup.
"And anger" Snotlout mumbles quietly.
I blush and smiled. Ugh I don't know what to do whenever I'm around Hiccup's mom. I don't know why.
"Astrid, honey?" Valka says.
I looked at her.
"Yes ma'm?" I say.
"May I speak with you alone?" She says holding out her hand for me to take. I take it and we both walk away from the others. Is she mad?!
What did I do wrong?
"So sweetie, Hiccup tells me you lost your parents before. I'm so sorry" She says while we walked slowly, enjoying the forest breeze.
"It's okay Va-er Mrs. Haddock" I say.
"Call me Valka, because from now on, I'l be your mother and you'll be my daughter" I smiled. She hugged me and I hugged back.
"And I can tell Hiccup is happy with you, and I thank you for that" She says.
"Your welcome, he makes me the happiest too" I reply.
"You remind me so much of the time me and Stoick were your age, we were as in love as you and Hiccup were" She smiles at the thought. I smiled too.
"Really? What was Stoick like before?"
"Exactly like Hiccup. Brave, different, romantic, unpredictable" She states.
"Yup, Hiccup is exactly like that" I nodded.
Valka chuckles and we turn back around.
"Just make sure you don't break him, alright?" She says.
"Of course not Valka, Hiccup is the best thing that has ever happened. I will never, I promise" I say.
"Thank you Astrid, whatever happens between you and Hiccup, I will always be there" She says.
"Thank you" I thanked.
She was like the mother I never had. She was sweet and tough at the same time. Reminded me of my mom back in the days.

"What took you so long, Astrid?" Hiccup says approaching me as me and Valka returned to the others.
"Oh just some, stuff. Don't worry about it" I smile and kissed his cheek. He blushes and places his arm around my waist, Valka winking at me.
I smiled and I looked at Hiccup who was already looking down right at me, smiling wide.
"Guys quit the staring and let's go dragon racing" Snotlout interrupts.
"Ooooh Dragon Race, looks like 1 new member will be joining" Valka says smirking.
"Let's do it!" I said.
"Bring it" Tuff yelled.

We stood there, defeated by Hiccup and his mother. They cheered and the others and I sat on the ground.
Well, this moves me from 2nd place, to 3rd. Oh well. At least they're happy.
"I hate being 4th place" Snotlout mumbles. I smiled and patted his head.
