Chapter 11

Luke and I ended up walking around the boardwalk for a few hours after eating

"I've never been to the beach" he admits

"Wh-what?" I say "you live in LA and haven't been to the beach? Are you serious"

"Why are you laughing ? Stop laughing"

"Chill I'm just curious because it's actually weird " I say

"Whatever "

We end up walking back to my car

I look at the time and it's 1pm

"Wait come " I start walking back to the beach

"Why? where are we going"

I take off my shoes and roll up my pants

Luke sits on the sand watching

"Just touch the water " I suggest

He thinks hard for a second and takes off his shoes and rolls up his pants

I take off my shirt and fix my bra and walk in the water

I can feel Luke's eyes on me. I quickly dive into the water

"Are you crazy?" He says

When I jump back up I laugh and splash water on him

"It's not bad come on"

"No you're crazy and weird" he says

"Fine", I walk back to the sand, Luke stays looking at the view I quickly run to him and push him down

"What the fuck!" He yells

I start laughing hysterically but stop when I look at his face

"Why the fuck did you do that are you stupid!?" He's mad ...

"Luke I'm - I was - sorry!" I don't know what to say he's scaring me

He stands up and walks back to the sand and puts his shoes on

"Luke!" I rush to him and grab my shirt

"I have a towel in my car you can use" I say

"I don't want anything just leave " his voice is cold

I sigh "whatever I'm done " I walk to my car and start looking for a towel to use

I couldn't find the towel I open the back doors and look under the seats and everywhere I open the trunk and start looking

"Jackie!" I hear someone yell

I look in all directions

"Jackie!!" I noticed Wes running up to me looking horrified before he could come closer everything blanked out

"Jackie wake up!" Someone says

"Jackie come on wake up!"

I opened my eyes and see Luke

"Lu--wtf did you do to me!" I quickly sit up

"Shhh!!" He covers my mouth

I slapped his hand away

"What did you do? " I looked at the clothes I was wearing

Old boy clothes a long shirt and baggy shorts

"You were wet and shivering and that's all I could find" he says

"You - you changed me!?" I panic

"Would you shut up!" He says

"Where am I!?" This place is dark it looks like an attic I hear men voices but nowhere near

"I'm scared" tears filled my eyes my body is cold and I'm shaking I don't know if it's because I'm cold or scared

Luke takes out his phone and walks around while making a call quietly

I can't help but cry quietly

Luke hangs up and helps me up

"Come here" he says

I walk up to him and he hugs me
Something he has never done
"I'm sorry" he whispers

"What are you sorry for?" I look up at him our faces inches away from each other

We both lean in and our lips start moving in sync
The men's voice upstairs get closer , we pull apart

"Here get out through here" he quickly pulls some wood tables from the wall making a big hole

I nod and quickly crawl through

Once I'm out I don't see Luke coming
"Luke!" I say quietly
"Luke!"
I start freaking out

I poke my head in and see Luke carrying a big duffle bag and pushing it through the hole

I quickly pull it out and he crawls through and closes it

He grabs the bag and pulls my hand
We both start running
We run for a few minutes
He stops and looks everywhere for something

"Luke I need to catch my breathe "
He nods and picks up his phone

"Where the fuck are you?"
"Hurry"
"Ok I see you"

"Come on" he says
I follow him and we walk up to this car and drive off

"You got what I asked you ?" He asks

"Yeah" he hands him some keys "everything is in there "

"Good" Luke says

"What's happening?" I ask

Luke looks over at his friend then back at me

"I'll explain later "
