The Moons New Guardian

Chapter 1

Jack's POV

After we defeated Pitch we all went back to the north pole to celebrate. The trumpets blared festive music and the yetis passed around cookies. It was mostly small talk between the guardians though. I finally got away from the group to explore the workshop. It was so much bigger than I expected. After years of failed attempts, I was finally on the inside. My fingers traced the elaborately decorated halls of a hallway I didn't recognize. At the very end stood a large door. Painted a with a white base it had blue snowflakes decorating the surface. Reaching over I grabbed the handle and turned it. It clicked signaling its inability to open.

"Hmmm Locked." I hmm to myself. "Wonder why." I look into the keyhole to see if I can look through. It's black on the other side. I couldn't see a thing.

"It's a bedroom" A voice answered behind me. Worried about who I jump and turn to face the person who caught me snooping. Bunny appeared from the shadows his nose twitching.

"Oh," I reply. "Who for?" I question My curiosity finally winning. I stick my hand behind my back and place it on the doorknob. Hoping Bunny wouldn't notice. I create a small ice key to try and recreate the original.

"An old friend who used to stay here." His answer short and curt. "You must stay out of this room you hear me?" He stepped closer. "I think we should get back to the party. they might get worried." I was on my fifth attempt my key finally starting to mold into the final groove.

"You wouldn't happen to have the key would you?" I ask buying myself more time.

"No the owner has the only key. And we haven't heard from her in a long time." Oh, so it's a her I think to myself. Bunny seems to be on edge now. Perhaps from my prying.

"You wouldn't mind if I take a look would ya?" I ask teasingly.

"Of course I do, Sandy and tooth would too." He drops his head. "Especially North" He says quietly and it doesn't go unnoticed. "But did you not hear me this area is off limits." I realize it would be such a great idea to bust the door open and go in with him watching. But I decided against it. So I pull the finished key away I'll come back later.

"So bunny this previous owner was she pretty?" I distract him from me placing the key in my pocket.

"You have no idea." He replied. Walking back with me to the party.

"How come if she was so important and why haven't I heard of her before?" I ask him

"She was family. But she left a deep wound so she's a sore topic." He replied with sadness in his voice.

Even though we were gone for quite a few minutes everyone was still having a good time. Even the Man In the Moon showed up. Not physically of course but he shined his light by north and it seemed they were having a conversation. Tooth stood to the side talking about teeth with her fairies. When she finally noticed me and bunny she dashed over.

" Hey, tooth whats up?" I ask her.

"Nothing really, Few molars, Central Incisors here and there. Same old same old." She said while her fairies buzzed around her.

"So tooth you going back to the palace after this?" Bunny asked.

"Yea there are some things I need to work on. MOstly re-organizing the teeth." She said chuckling.

"Okay, so imma go steal some food see ya later tooth. Bunny" I say nodding my head. I turn away to let them talk but I overheard a bit of their last conversation.

"I found jack snooping by 'her' room." I heard him tell tooth. She gasped her eyes quickly darting to me then to North.

"Should we tell North?" She asked him preparing to fly over to him and spill the beans.

"No, I don't think that will be necessary. I caught him before he broke in." He told tooth causing her to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Good last time we got news on her North had to buy presents for Christmas instead of making them." She said reliving a past memory. Who was this girl if she could make Santa forget all about his own holiday.
