Chapter 6

Jack's POV

After Tooth had finally told me about Elsa and four months passed. Summer came and I had spent less time around Burgess Because snow in August is pretty freaky if you ask me. Right now I was currently hanging outside Jamie's house. It was like 5 in the morning and he should be waking up in a few hours.

Bored out of my mind I fly around burgress taking in the sights. Passing over the park I remember when I had taken Jamie for a sled ride and he got hit with a sofa. Chuckling to myself I land on a familiar street. The street where we had a final showdown and Jamie and his friends said they would protect us. A smile played across my lips as I relived the memory in my mind.

Wandering along the street I see a corner store that has Chocolates and Teddy Bears at a discounted Price. All from last Valentines Day. Which were MONTHS ago. Jeez, those people need to throw that food out. Or store the bears for next time.

"Sheesh." I think out loud.

"Sheesh is right." I turn and see one of Jamie's friends. The older girl. I cant remember her name though. "I mean they do this every year to try and get rid of inventory." She looks over to me. "I honestly think Valentine's day is stupid. I mean if you love someone do you really need a special day to tell them? I don't know it seems kind of dumb." She says shrugging. "Is cupid real? Have you ever met him? Is he a baby like everyone says?" She asks. I chuckle at her. "Whats so funny?" She asks.

"Nothing it's just you're really curious." She huffs and looks at the merchandise again. "And Yes." She looks at me with confusion. "Cupid is real. Can't say I've ever met her though. And She doesn't have the appearance of a baby... at least I don't think she does." I start to question everything realizing that for all I know she could be a big baby because I've never met her and she isn't a hot topic with the guardians... "Oh and Cupid is a girl," I tell her. "But what are you doing up so early?" I look at a clock inside the store and realize an hour has passed and it's 6 now.

"I was out for a jog." She says shrugging. I then notice that she has a dog with her and she was indeed wearing jogging clothes. The dog sat there with wide eyes watching me. Doing nothing. "So cupid's a girl. And she's not a baby... SWEET." She says jumping up pumping her fist in the air. "Well, it's almost time for me to 'wake up'." My parents don't know I take morning jogs with choco" She says pointing to the chocolate lab next to her. She turns and starts to run before she was too far she turned around and waves at me. I wave back.

The next hour is pretty boring. I make my way back to Jamie's house and see he is already awake and is packing his backpack. He looks up and sees me at the window. He waves his hand back and forth enthusiastically. I chuckle and wave back. He points downstairs and nods his head. I think he wants me to meet him outside. I nod in agreement not entirely sure what he was trying to say or if it was the right move. But what have I got to lose. I fly around his house to his front door and wait. After a few minutes, he walks out with his mom waving to him from the door.

"Hey, Jack." He says after his mom closes the door.

"Hey, Jamie," I reply. "Ready for school?" I ask him and he shakes his head.

"Nope." He says popping the 'p' "Not a bit. But let's hurry and get the others." He says grabbing my hand and racing off to another house.

Our group was finally complete once we reached Cupcake's House. Now we were all walking towards there school They were huddled together to make room for people on the sidewalk. I was just hovering beside them and Jamie was telling jokes.

"Okay, so what does a nosey pepper do?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I don't know. What?" I asked.

"It gets Jalapeno business." He replies and we all laugh. I noticed someone from the corner of my eye. They didn't seem important but they move out of the way further even though there was enough room if you didn't include me. But I was bound to pass through them. So why did they move farther? But what caught my attention was that they were carrying a bow and some arrows. Weird I think to myself. I ignore it until I feel something brush my shoulder. It was faint but I felt it. I shouldn't be able to touch anything let alone an adult who surely doesn't believe in the spirit of winter. Stopping in my tracks I turn and hear that person mumble something under their breath. Soon after they start to pick up their pace I reach out my staff in hopes of stopping that person and asking them why? Why can I touch them? Did they see me? Do they see me? I stop when I hear Jamie call to me.

"Jack. Are you Okay?" I hear him ask. I still stare after that mystery person not answering Jamie. "Just my imaginary friend." He chuckles telling the other people on the street.

"Fine." I finally respond turning back to him. I'll investigate later. But something is definitely wrong. I see Jamie and his friends off in front of their school. I make my way back from down the road I came. I didn't see anything that helped me. No clue no nothing. After a few minutes, I gave up. But as I was wandering farther down the street I noticed someone in a small sidewalk cafe. Or should I say something? It was a small brown furry creature.

It puzzled me that there was such a creature and yet no one was noticing. Then it hit me. He is a fairytale. I didn't know which one though. But what caught my eye was the person sitting across from the rodent. A blue hoodie hid their face. Next to them a long white bow. And some arrows behind them. Definitely who I'm looking for. I'm about to walk in when I see The creature hand the person what seems to be a file. I wonder whats in it.

I watch as the person tries to leave but the rodent seems to stop them and discuss a few more things. He finally let's go looking a bit sad. I see the mystery person head my way. Pulling myself to the side I step into the alley next to the building. Flying up and around I notice them look both ways as if watching for someone, before walking out and turning into the alley I just came from.

Curious I fly down behind them. I see that the mystery person has a bag hanging from their shoulder. In it, I can see the file I saw earlier. They reach their hand in and draw from it a snow globe. Confused I wonder why they have some of those. Only North has those. They slowly whisper something to it. Most likely their destination where they will take the plans they just received and finish their plot to take over the world. They raise their hand and prepare to throw it. I have to stop them. Without thinking I yell at them.

"Wait." Reaching out with my staff I knock the snowglobe out of their hands. Tumbling into them we knock into the newly formed portal.
