Chapter 30
I feel my body go into fight or flight mode as the realization of what is happening dawns on me. I push him with everything I have in me and it catches him off guard enough that he stumbles off me. I jump off the bed and take off to the door.
"Get the fuck back here Blondie, we aren't done here," I cringe as he calls me the nickname only Trent should be calling me.
"You're fucking crazy," I scream as I reach the door. Just as I'm about to run out, a hand grabs my arm tightly causing me to let out a yelp. "No! Let go! No," I yell out in terror. This can't be happening. Not again. I'm supposed to be stronger now. I'm supposed to have overcome this, so why do I feel like I'm slowly breaking down again?
"Cali?" I hear a familiar voice call out and I scream for help before his nasty hands cover my mouth. A fist pounds on the door and I cry out, trying to fight him off me.
"Stop fighting this Cali," He grunts in my ear while rubbing himself against my backside. He likes me struggling. He likes my cries for help, my begging. Sick piece of shit.
Fight back Cali.
I knee him in the groin and then jab my elbow back into his face as he bends over in pain. I use this as my chance to escape. I run to the door and almost get hit in the face by a fist.
"Cali?" Link asks in concern, noticing my shaken appearance. He looks behind me to see him getting up off the floor. He looks back to me as realization dawns on him. "Fucking hell," he spits out as he grabs my arm pulling me out of the room and pushing me behind him.
"Are you fucking kidding me man?" He yells out at him. I'm not sure exactly what's going on, I was always unsure of Link considering he was his best friend, but seeing him push him back onto the ground right now has me watching on in shock.
"How dare you fucking touch her again after everything that's happened? You just got convicted for this shit and you're already trying again? Are you fucking stupid? You asshole I can't believe I never saw you for who you really are," Link yells in his face.
He turns back to me a look of sorrow passing through his crystal blue eyes. "Get out of here Cali, I'll take care of this asshole. It's the least I can do," he whispers the last part. I hesitate, but when he gives me a nod I take off.
I don't blame Link for not knowing who his friend really is. He fooled just about everyone.
TRENT'S POV
I was going to head back to my room to get away for a few minutes before facing Cali when I remembered that Ollie had to show me something. I head back to the ballroom and when I spot him I don't see Cali with him thankfully. I all but told her I loved her just a few minutes ago, so I don't think I was ready just yet to see her.
"Hey Ollie," I say as I reach him. He looks to me before looking around me. "What?"
"Cali just went to go find you, did you see her?" He asks.
Cali wanted to see me? I shake my head at his question. "What did you want to show me?" I ask, trying not to think why Cali wanted to find me.
Ollie sighs and tells me to follow him out of the noisy room. When we reach the lobby he pulls up a video on his phone and hands it to me. I look at him in confusion, but he just tells me to hit play. And when I do I'm hit with the image of Cali and Dana walking out of the courthouse. It makes my blood boil seeing her discomfort as the media yell things at her, but at one man's question I wish I could find him and rip him a new one.
