Chapter. 13

1 POV

"So, you want to us to find the Alphas of Phoenix Drop?" States Lucinda firmly.

"Yes, Lucinda. The Leaders are the the the top priority. Report back if you find them, dead or alive." Orders the A-leader. "Who will be assigned with me?"

"Travis and Dante." Lucinda sighs. "Those imbeciles."

"They may be imbeciles but they are the second strongest to you." States the A-leader. "I guess you are correct."

Silence filled the room. "You are dismissed."

Lucinda walks out to be greeted by Travis and Dante. "Soo?" Grins Dante. Lucinda groans "You two have to come with me."

"Ha! You owe me a squirrel!" Exclaims Dante as Travis groans. "Ugh, I shouldn't have agreed to that bet." "What bet?" Questions Lucinda.

"I betted to Travis that we would join you for your assignment." Chuckles Dante. Travis looking at him with annoyance.

Lucinda rolls her eyes and starts walking to the gate of Meteli, leaving behind Travis and Dante. They quickly scramble to their positions and followed Lucinda out.

Garroth is watching them with an uncertain stare.

Remember, we only want the girl and Garroth.

2 POV

Aaron is still attempting to find the trail. Aphmau sleeping as she moves every so often becoming a burden on Aaron's shoulders. Literally.

Aaron keeps trying to find the trail. The snow is distracting him. Aaron sighs. He is looking at the sky then quickly back down. Clearly, he is struggling.

This may be simple for us.

3rd POV

"We've lost Laurance. He's with a group of savage wolves. The ones that kill other wolves. This will be hard to take them. They are hard to keep up with. They are going South to the forest, probably attempting to leave the forest."

"Summarize who's left."

"No sign of the Phoenix Leaders. The daughter is also gone. Katelyn and the other have gone with that mutt Teony. Those three have been marked and are currently being tracked.
The mother is dead. Her daughter is with the Leader's son-"

"Why haven't you captured them?"

"We must be cautious around him. He's dangerous. If we want to stay in our form that is. We could set him off."

"I see."

"We unable to get Garroth. We must create a plan to even get close to him. He's in the safety of Meteli. Our spy is too weak to capture him."

"The report is good. You may go now and get to work."

He looked down. "Yes, Alpha."

His blue eye, a piercing blue staring at him with rage. He turns around to exit the cave.

???? POV

I enter the cave. My aching body collapses onto the thin layer of leaves with dirt. He hasn't returned yet. I hope the work didn't end up killing him. I close my eye and rest my head.

"????" I heard a familiar voice and saw ????? at the entrance of the small cavern. He looked exhausted. His fur was worn down. I couldn't blame him. Pressuring someone as young as ????? to work as much as an adult.

I move my body to let him lay on it. We both lay down and rest.

Sleeping as the small snowflakes enter our cave.

The next day in the afternoon...

Ever since the Alpha's mate and daughter left, the Alpha has been making us work intensely. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish they came back to the work can stop. My body is aching as we go hunting for large prey and drag it back. This usually isn't my job, but Alpha ordered me to until we get more information about those wolves.

For some reason, he also wants the Leader's son. I don't understand why he's so dangerous.

Lost in my thoughts, I feel a sharp pain in my back. I fall towards the ground as the pain rose.

"Get back to work!" Yelled one of the guards.
I continue to drag the moose with my partner. I don't know him but he's very thin, his ribs and spine showing.

Then he limps followed by collapsing to the ground. He doesn't move and small foams are coming from his mouth. He's dead.

My eye widens. The guard grunts then take the wolf's frail body and dragged it further into the forest. It's frightening. Knowing either me or ????? could end up that way. I drag the moose on my own with the guard barely dragging it.

We get back to the pack. Two died this time. Nothing new.

The wolves on a higher rank feast as those starving such as ????? and I sit on the sidelines with nothing to eat.

When they finish, we go to the scraps and take them to eat. Some days, there are none left.

We head home and try to rest.

The day then repeats. At least for ?????.

I go and collect information to report to the Alpha. It's mostly towards the Alpha's mate and daughter. But his mate is dead, and his daughter is with someone dangerous.

They have to act accordingly, especially what happened to ???????. Who knew someone could have that power.

Doesn't matter.
All that matters is that this torture ends.
