Chapter. 11

Garroth's POV

I sighed in disappointment.

Why did that have to happen? We just got there and we're already back on our own. I got attached too easily, I can't let that happen again.

Me and Laurence wander the woods slouching.

We're exhausted.

"Now what Garroth?" Laurance grimly asks. "I have no idea Laurance." I grimly respond.

For the rest of the way we walk in silence. I wonder what living a normal life is like. My father and mother were kicked out of our old pack a long time ago. My brothers and I stayed behind in fear of the woods but eventually me and Laurance were soon kicked out. I had to leave Zane and Vylad by themselves in that horrible pack.

However, I am not sorry about leaving them. Me and Laurance barely survived for a bit.

Then we decided to fight the Alpha.

Now, we are homeless once again.

I wonder how Laurance felt when he had to leave Cadenza behind. She was probably heart broken.

Oh wait. The sun is going down.

"We'll have to find a shelter Laurance. It's going to get dark soon." I inform Laurance.

"Oh, it's getting dark? I didn't notice." He replies sarcastically.

The tone of his voice annoyed me a bit but I stayed quiet because I couldn't blame him.

We look around and found a small empty den about the size of my father. Fortunately, Laurance and I managed to fit in the den but it felt very uncomfortable.

I don't know what I can do.

Eventually I fall asleep.

The next morning...

As I awoke I noticed Laurance was gone.

"Huh? Laurance?!" I yelled out.

I scrambled to my feet and start sniffing for any scent of him. It took a while to find a trail, but eventually I find it and track him down.

I gradually smelled more wolves. 3 other wolves.

The smell becomes stronger and I find Laurance, with three other wolves.

One had white fur with purple eyes, one with brown and red spots on his fur with dark red eyes and another wolf with black fur and blue eyes.

"Come on Laurance! Join us. The Shadow Knights have survived for a long time on our own. What is that idiot Garroth going to do? He won't care you leave." Said the leader.

The other two wolves stay silent.

"Fine, I have no where else to go and you have been begging me to join." Responded Laurence.

"Perfect." Smirked the Leader.

I stay hidden in the bushes. Tempted to lunge at the the group and Laurence, but I can't. If I do, I might as well be dead meat.

They start walking away. Opposite from my direction.

I stare at Laurence in disbelief. Why would he do this? It's not fair.

I start wandering aimlessly. I couldn't believe Laurence would just leave me like that. After all we've been through. I guess he had enough with being such a weak partner.

I walk around looking for a shelter or another wolf. However, I frequently turned back to where I last saw Laurence and was tempted to chase after and stick with him.

Lost in my thoughts, I did not notice two wolves in front of me. And who I assume is the leader, sending me death glares.

"Hey! I'm speaking to you! Who are you?" Yelled the 'leader'.

I turn my head in surprise and look at them.

The leader was a female. Orange fur with menacing red eyes. The two others were male. One had white fur and emerald green eyes and the other has dark blue fur and blue eyes.

"Oh. I'm Garroth." I answer.

"Where did you come from?" She asked.

"I came from.... Phoenix Drop."

"Phoenix Drop?" She says in an almost calm manner.

"He isn't a threat then." Said The wolf with white fur.

"Why did you drop your guard so suddenly?" I ask suspiciously.

"We are from Meteli." She says before she realized. "I'm guessing you were new to the pack. Meteli and Phoenix Drop are allies. We support each other when tragedy strikes. In our case we were sent to deliver a message to the Alphas. I was unfortunate enough to have these two dimwits as my escort." Replied the leader.

"Hey! I'm not a dimwit! Travis is!" Yelled out the blue one.

"Yeah! Hey wait a minute!" Exclaimed Travis.

"Will the both of you just shut up!" The leader said in a menacing voice.

The two of them yelped and shut up.

"Anyway. What are you doing all the way here?" Asked the leader.

"Phoenix Drop. It was attacked by someone. Don't know who. It's not here anymore." I sighed.

The three of them looked shocked then immediately start running in the same direction.

"Hey wait!" I yell and start following them.

It didn't take long when they arrived at what I assumed was Meteli.

It was huge. Probably larger than Phoenix Drop.

I could see a few injured wolves let in. Some I knew and some I didn't.

A male wolf had seen us and ran up to us.

"Lucinda. Travis. Dante. What are you doing here so soon?" Asked the Guard.

"We were informed by a survivor of Phoenix Drop's demise. It's no longer there."

"That explains the amount of wolves in need of refuge. Come in you four."

I follow them as I look back.

Laurence. There could have been a safer place for you to go. Meteli. Not with them.

Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan. I assume they have no idea about Meteli. I hope they'll be safe.

Aaron and Aphmau. I'm sure they are heading here or are already here.

Wait. What am I thinking. For all I know....

They could be dead...
