Chapter 2: The Dinner Dater

         I woke up to my parents fighting like usual. I walked to the bathroom. I heard my mom yell "Whatever, Im so done." and then slammed the front door. I walked down stairs to see my dad sitting at the island. Dad." I said softly. I saw him wipe his eyes fast. "Hey Nicole." "What happened between you and mom?" I asked hoping to get a ligit answer to talk to him about it but all I got was "I dont even know anymore." He walked upstairs and slammed his bedroom door like a teenager. "Nice talking to ya." I said. I got a phone call. I looked at my screen it was Zak. I answered it. "Hello." "Well, Good morning Beautiful." I giggled I could hear him laugh over the phone. "Did you tell dad about us?"  He asked. "Yes I did, did you tell Aaron yet?"  He didnt answer for a minute. "Good, what about tonight? and no i did not tell him he found out over hearing me and Nick talking about it and ran off." F***, great I lost my best friend. "I didnt bring up tonigh to him yet., he has been upset because of him and mom fighting." "Oh ok." he said sadly. "Umm, why dont you come over and talk to him about it?" he paused for a moment. "Um, ok. you probably just want to see me." I giggled "Maybe,but no it would be better for you to ask." he laughed. "Ok, I'll be there in a couple." "Alright."  "See you soon."  "Bye." I hung up the phone and yelled for my dad. "DAD!!!!!"  He ran down those stairs really fast. Faster then Ive seen him move. "What is it pumkin?" "Zak is coming over to talk to you about something." He rolled his eyes. "Dont yell like that if you aint hurt." I laughed "Im sorry." "Thats alright. I'll go get up and get changed." a couple minute later the doorbell rang. I opened the door it was Zak. I greeted him with a hug. My dad came down stairs  and greeted him with a handshake. "So I hear you two are dating." I looked at my dad like really. "Yes we are."He laughed and looked at me. "well i was wondering whe you two would." We laughed. "So what is it that you wanted to talk about ?"  He froze he felt like he was getting put on the spot. "Umm, I was wondering if i could take your daughter out to dinner and then dancing?"  It was a ling silent pause  unil my dad spoke up. "Yes you can, Have her home by." "Thank you and she will be back by then." My dad smiled and walked to the kitchen. "Umm, were all going to the pool in a little. Do you want to go with?" I thought about it for a minute "Yes." "Mary is coming to. Her and Nick have been talking more." I was shocked . Me and Mary are best friends. I guess im loosing all my best friends. "Oh ok, let me go get ready." "Ok meet you outfront in a little." "Okay." He kissed my Forehead and left.

        At the pool me and Aaron didnt talk at all. Mary and Nick looked cute together. Zak was in the while i was tanning. "Com in guys."  I heard Zak say. Everyone got up and went in the pool except me. "Come in Nicole." Everyone shouted. I shook my head no. Zak got out of the pool. "Whats wrong." I looked up at himwith my hand covering the sun. "Nothing." he gave me the look like yeeh right. "Then come in the pool." he said "I dont want to." Zak picked me up bridal style and walked me to the pool. "atleast put your feet in?" I looked at him. "Ok fine."  Nick, Aaron an dMary were on the other side of the pool. Zak swam over there leaving me alone.  I sat there alone for what seemed liked forever. Till Mary came over. "So whats new with you and Aaorn?" she asked. "What do you mean?" "Usually you two are together goofing around and today your not?" I almost lost it. "Umm, Me and him got into an arument because Zak and I got together." She looked shocked. "You and Zak are together?" I chuckled." Yeah, we just go together. So dont think I have been lying to you." I looked over and Zak Aaron, and Nick were swimming over to us. Zak grabbed my feet. "Dont you think about it Zak." He looked at me with one eyebrow raised. "Think about what?" he said with his cute little side smirk. "You dont know what im thinking about?" As I stopped talking  he tugged at my feet. "Zachary." he smiled. "Yes?" I laughed and he tugged at my feet again. Before I could say anything he pulled me in. I swam to the surface. I looked at him and he was laughing."Oh, So you think you so funny dont ya?" "I dont think, I know." I giggled. He kissed my forehead. "You guys ready to go?" Aaron asked. I think he had enough to see wih me and Zak. "Yeah." Nick said.

                It was 5:00 when Zak dropped me off. "Hey Nicole." My mom said. She really doesnt talk to me. "Hey Mom." she looked at me nervous. "I know we dont really talk but I heard you and Zak are finally together." she looked happy for me."If you ever need any girl talk you know im here for you." "Thank you." I walked upstairs. I got into the shower. I got out and blow dried my hair and put it in a pony for now. I walked to my closet pulled out my floral dress and floral cowgirl boot. I sat down and plugged my phone into my Ihome to listen to music and charge it.  It was 6:30 by the time i  dit that so I put sweats and a t-shirt on for now and I straitened up my room. When I was done I curled my hair and did my makeup put my dress and put my boots on.

Zak's P.O.V

        "I dont know if i cando this bro." Zak said to Nick. "You can do it." Nick said to build Zak confedence. "I dont know bro. What if you came and double dated with Mary?" Zak asked nervous. "Um, I dont know if that would give me nd her enough time to get ready. and would Nicole mind?"  "Let me text her and find out and if she dont mind then illlet you get ready and meet us there." I was so nervous.

Nicoles P.O.V

        I got a text from Zak. "Hey, do you mind if we double date with Nick and Mary?" Umm why did we have to ivite them. I was kinda hopin our first date would be special. Just the two of us. "Umm. yeah sure the more the marrier." I replied. "Okay, cool. Meet me outside your house in a couple of minutes." I didnt respond.  I looked at myself one last time. I said "You got this girl." and walked out.

        We got to the restaurant and there was Mary and Nick we greeted each other and walk in. We got a booth adn looked at the menus. "Are you Okay Nikki?" Zak asked with concern. "Yeah, Im fine." I kept looking at the menu. We ordered and started a conversation. When we were done eating we stayed a little longer and conversation. Nick and Zak went up to pay the bill while me and Mary walked to the cars. "I know what your thinking." Mary said. "What do you mean?" I asked her. "You wanted this night , your first dat tto be just the two of you. I know couse tat what I wanted." Maybe we are best friends / sister for a reason. The boys walked out. "Ready to go dancing you two?" "Yes" We said in unison. We got into our cars. Nick followed us. "Okay , you have been a little quiet  tonight. What's wrong?" "Nothing." he looked at me "Nothing my ass, Tell me." "Okay, I figured our first date would of been the two of us. I didnt want to tell yo u cause I didnt want you to be mad or upset."  I said trying not to make him mad. "Why didnt you just say that?" "Cause I didnt want to make you mad and I figured it was your idea thats why you asked." We were quiet the rest of the ride.

        We got out of the car and waited for Nick and Mary. "You ready?" Mary asked me. "HEll YEAH!" I shouted. Me and Mary knew all the dances here.  When we walked in "country girl (shake it for me)" just came on so me and Mary ran for a spot to dance. The boys stayed back a couple of songs. Then they came in when the couple songs came on and the ass shaking ones and got right on the dance floor. "Bless the broken Road" come on  I was singing and so was Zak. While we werer dancing  we looked at each other and smiled. Then we looked into each others eyes and  kissed passionatly.

        It was 11:00 when we were done and tired. We said good bye and walked to our cars. "Man am i tired." I said. "Me to." Zak said. "We have an hour to spare. What are we ganna do?" I asked him. "I dont know." we started driving. when Zak parked I looked out the window we could see some of our town. "Its beautiful." I said getting out of the car. "Just like you." Zak said. I started to blush. We met infront of the car. Zak couldnt stop looking at me. "Why do you keep looking at me?" I asked him while laughing. He walked over to me and grabbed my waist and said "what? I cant look at my beautiful girlfriend." I started blushing even more. We kissed passionatly, then he started running kisses down my neck. "Zak." I said pusing him away. "Yeah." "Shouldnt we wait a little longer?" "Isnt 17 years long enough?" he had a point we went back to the car and Zak couldnt keep his hands off me. So i let him have fun. When we were done he drove me home. He drove me up to my house. I got out and walked over to the driver side. the window was down. I gave him a kiss and whispered softly into his ear. "See you tomorrow Mr. Bagans." and walked away. I heard him say "Tease." and then drove off. I walked inside. closed and lock the door and slid down it. "How was it?" My dad asked "Best night of my life." I got up and walked upstairs. I hoped into the shower. when I was done I jumped into bed. I looked at my phone I had a text from Zak. "Goodnight Babe, Sweet dreams, Sleep tight, Dont let the bed bugs bite. Love you," Awe I said to myself. "Night love you to." I replied.
