Chapter 10: What are we going to do?

        By the next morning I woke up to cuddling with Zak. One of the feelings I missed instead of two kids in the middle of us. Around 9:30 in the morning Mary was at the door. "Nicole, I want to talk to you." She said through the door. I got out of my comfortable position with Zak just to talk to her. I opended the door and she pulled me our really fast. I didnt have my room key so I hope Zak is still there or brings one. "Whats the matter?" I asked her then I saw Aaron and I understood. "Why did you tell Aaron if you werent sure?" She asked me "I didnt tell him anything yet."  she looked at me funny "Then why did Aaron say you did?" She said, I looked at Aaron confused "Thats not what I said, I said she had something to talk to me about and I want to know, could you come with? thats all I said." Aaron explained  "Alright, can we go somewhere thaat my fiance wont here this?" I asked them we walked down to the van we figured no one we knew would be down there. "Can I please know what is going on?"  I looked at Mary and then back at Aaron. "I might possibly be pregnant with your baby." I said trying to stay calm "WHAT!!!" "SHHH!" I said  trying to cover his mouth. "queit, I dont want people to here us." He looked at me like really. "You might possibly pregnant with my baby but your with Zak and about to marry him and you want me to be queit?" He said, I dont know what to do at this point. Zak, Aaron, and I have been through so much drama since we were seniors. I dont know how it could get anyworse. "Okay, So what are you two going to do?" Mary asked I sighed "I dont know, Your plan started last night, if that helps." I told her. She rolled her eyes "I dont need to know that Nicole." Mary said.  "I was just letting you know." I said laughing. "What is the plan?" Aaron asked "Well Mary thought that I should have sex with Zak and then tell him that im pregnant so he thinks its his." I told him "Well instead of trying to figure out who's baby it is why dont we go to the doctors and see whos it is?" Aaron asked "Yeah, when we get back i'll make an apointment and then i'll figure something out to tell him to make him not think im doing anything suspicious."  As soon as we were done talking Nick and Zak walked up "Hey what you guys doing?" Nick asked "Oh, Just talking." Mary said "Do you guys want to pack up the van and get something to eat before we leave?" Zak asked, We all shook our head yes and thats what we did.  Nick and Mary sat in the front  and Nick drove, Aaron in the middle and then me and Zak in the back together. I didnt want to Zak to feel left out and im trying to get on his good side again. When we arrived at the diner I was hoping that Zak and I didnt fight this time. We were good so far we walked hand in hand inside of ihop. We ordered our food and started talking. "So whats our next investigation?" I asked "I dont know can we figure that out after we see the twins and settle down." Zak said "Alright." we got our food and we finish eating.  I started to not feel good. I took a bite of my pancake and I grabbed my mouth and ran to the bathroom. When I got back no one thought anything of it. They all thought I was sick except Aaron and Mary, They knew. When Aaron was done he was playing with the little bit he had left. While he was playing his fork slipped and the piece of the pancake came flying torrowed my face. We all laughed. I thought it was hillarious. We were done and got back into the van. Nick drove and mary sat in the passanger with him. Aaron in the middle with his headphones in and jamming and Nick and I in the back back. Since I didnt feel good he let me lay my head on his lap and relax the hour car ride to the airport. The time without the twins and it just being me and Zak has been great. We really didnt fight. When me, Aaron, and Mary go see who the dad is and its not Zak im going to be devasted. Just the thought of it made me cry. "What the matter hun?" He asked playing with my hair. "Nothing." "You could of fooled me babe." I looked at him "I dont want to talk about it." "Alright." he said. the rest of the ride I was queit and so was Zak. We got to the airport it was time to board the plane. We were all seperated on the plane for some reason. Me and Zak were actually having fun. We were goofing around and laughing.  We kissed and then he went to my ear to whisper something "Why dont we leave the twins with my mom one more night and we can have our own little fun for one?" He asked, I kinda wanted to see the twins thats what I was looking forward to but anything to keep this going. "Yes." I said to him "That would be nice." I put my head on his shoulder and soon after I fell asleep. I was alseep untile we landed aand so was Zak. He is so cute when he sleeps. We all walked to baggage claim together and out of the corner of my eye I saw Aaron and Mary talking. "I'll be back, Im going to go talk to Aaron and Mary." I said to Zak. I walked over to them "Hey, what you two talking about?" I asked them "You." They said "What? Why about me?" I asked "We want to know when your going to make the appointment and if your sticking to what we were talking about?" I dont know why they wuold ask that im alway good to my word. "Yes, I was ganna make the appointment when we got home and away from Zak. Why wouldnt I stick to the plan?" They didnt answer me. I walked back over to Zak and we all walked out of the airport. Aaron drove us all home. I told Mary I would text her when I got home. When we got to our house we said good bye and got everything into the house. It was around 4:30 when we got home. I got our bags and put them in the laundry room and took the stuff we need out and back into our bed room bath. Out of no where I felt someone grab my waist. I turned around and our of reaction I punch Zak in the face without knowing it was him. "Omg, I am so sorry. Are you ok babe?" I said he was covering his nose. "Yeah im good. I wasnt exspecting that." "Im so sorry." I said to him" "Its ok hun, you didnt know." He told me. "Now where were we." He said pulling me closer and in for a kiss. "Babe I was in the middle of something." I told him "So you can finish that later." he started to kiss my neck when the door bell rang. "I'll get it." I told him. I walked out of the room and down stairs. It was a friend of my dads. "Hey, What are you doing here, I thought my dad was with you." I asked her "He was until he had to go the hospital." She said  "THE HOSPITAL!!!! What for?" I asked Zak heard me and ran down the stairs. "Who is in the hospital?" He asked in panic. "Dad." I told him "We better go and see if he is ok." He said "Do you know what hospital he went to Blanche?" I asked her "I dont know the name of it. But its the one by the Parkway." She told us "Alright thank you, Do yoou want to follow us or?" I asked "No, no, I'llgo tomorrow and see him you kids go on ahead." We shook our heads and locked up the house and left to go see him at the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital I went straight to the desk "Is there anyone here by the last name of Jones?" I asked her "First name Albert?" She asked "Yes that would be my dad." I told her "He is not allowed to see anyone at this time. I will let the doctor know you are here and will let you know what is going on." She told me I didnt know what to do so I hugged Zak and he hugged me back really tight.  It was an hour later when the doctor came out and by that time I was sleeping on Zak shoulder. "Nikki wake up the doctors here." He woke me up real sweetly. I got up and stood up to shake his hand "I heard that Albert is your father." He said "Yes." I said to him "Well, he had a heart attack  and he wasnt responding, Well he still is not responding." I started to cry and Zak comforted me a little. "I will come back with updates with his status." He told us I cried even harder into chest. "He will get better babe" I looked at him "Dont say something you know nothing about." I told him not trying to be mean but just letting him know that knew that this could go either way. It was about 30 minutes when the doctor came back. "Im sorry ms. Jones we tried everything in our power to revive him and He has passed." I didnt believe him, I didnt want to believe him. "No he's not dont mess with me like that." I told him "Im sorry for your lose." and then he walked away. "Babe im sorry, He was a great man and he is in a better place now." he told me. "I know hun. It just stinks that he wont walk me down the isle no more. or see the twins grow up. but I know mom and dad are in a better place together now." We walked into the room he was in and said our last goodbyes and walked down to the car. We just sat there for minute just silence. "Babe, How are we going to talk to the twins about death?" I asked him. "I dont know hun, I dont know." We drove home in silence not one word. When we got home I did the things I was doing before we had to go and then laid down. The appointment totally left my mind so I texted Mary. "Hey, Mar I had so much going on tonight with my dad death and the appointment totally left my mind can you call in and make it for me please? Zak is with me and I cant." I texted her while Zak was in the bathroom. "Yes and Im so sorry to hear about dad." She replied.  I finally fell asleep.
