Chapter 13: A new addition to the family.

        The next morning Mason and Miya came and jumped on our bed "Wake up, Wake up." They said while jumping on us. "Were up."Zak said grabbing Miya and tickling her. "Mom can you make us pancakes and bacon?" Mason asked  "Sure." I went to the bathroom and then downstairs to make the kids and Zak  breakfast.  While I was flipping the pancakes Zak came up from behind me and hugged me. "Smells good babe." I smiled "Yeah it does." The kids were getting inpatient for there breakfast. "Mom."They  groaned "You guys need to wait." I said, Zak sat down with the kids and started to egg them on 'Honey, hurry up."I turned around and looked at him   "Zachary Alexander Bagans. dont get those kids started." I said "OOOHHH you just got full named." Mason said I laughed and served them there plates. "Mom, Can we get a dog?" Miya asked "Yeah mom can we."Mason said "Yeah mom I agree on that." Zak said acting like a kid. "umm, I dont think so guys." I said. "Why?" they all cried "I said no and that the end of discussion." I said and walked upstairs. I got dressed and put my hair in a pony tail. Zak came up and knocked on the bathroom door. "Babe, whats the matter?" He asked threw the door. "Nothing, im fine. Want to take the kids to the park with me and Aaron will bring Brook there?" I asked. "Yeah, and I know there is something wrong." He said "There is nothing wrong." I went downstairs and told the kids to go get dressed and washed up. I texted Mary "Hey, do you want to bring Payton to the park today. Zak and I are taking the twins and Aaron is bringing Brook there." It took a little for her to respond but her resonse was "Yes let m get him ready and we will be there." The kids came down and they were ready I got Brook's bag ready just in case we needed anything. Zak put the twins in the car. "Ok you ready hun?" he asked "yes." "Ok, lets go." We drove to the park and Aaron like usual is the first one there. "So, how was your first night with your baby girl?" I asked Aaron "It was good. She was really good for me." He said Mason, Miya, and Payton all ran to the playground they were all getting so big. "So, Me and Nick figured our house need a pet. I think we are getting a dog soon." Mary said. "Thats nice." I said, Mary gave me a weird look. "Usually you like animals, Whats the matter?" She asked "Nothing, I love animals but I wouldnt want any right now." Mary didnt know what to say. "Ok, I know what is going on, You either dont want one because of the children or because you dont want to deal with the kids when the dog passes away." she said, My best friend knows me so well. "Yes that is exactly it. I dont want one of the kids rough houseing with him or her and then it reacts and bites one of them. and if we do get a dog that is good the kids will be heartbroken and I dont know how to deal with that." I explained Zak over heard and walked over leaving Aaron and Nick with the kids. "So, why did you tell me this stuff instead of nothing is wrong?" Zak asked "I'm sorry, I just didnt want another fight over something so stupid." I said "Well we have been pretty good and why dont we go look together and see what we find?" He asked "Alright, I will try." I said I looked over to see the kid playing really well together and Aaron still holding Brook. We were at the park for about 2 hours. We all decided to go to lunch together. Mason and Miya were a little out of hand then usual because Payten was there and they were excited to see him.  They were starting to really get our of hand and Zak was not getting mad this time. I took Miya and Mason "Sit down and calm it please." They shook thier heads and sat down. Mary did the same for Payten.  We were talking about our next investigation to go on. "So, were do you think we should go next?" Zak asked I thought for a moment. "How about The Riddle house in Palm beach Country, Florida?" I asked "What is it about?" Mary asked "Well, it was suppost to origanally be a funural parlor but it was dismantled and rebuilt in Yesteryear Village at the South Florida fair grounds. Now it is privatly owned." I explained "Well what goes on in the house?" Aaron asked "Joseph, One of the Riddlers former workers, Commited suicide by hangging himself in the attic of th house.Joseph, for whatever reason, hated men, and displays this hatred by attacking men who enter the attic. One man had a lid flung at his head, and men are now no longer allowed in the attic. Other places in the house are haunted as well, with furniture being frequently moved." I explained more "That sounds like a good one."Nick said "Yeah, We should all check it out more." Zak said We finished up and we all went home. Aaron came over for a little with Brook. "So, tomorrow Mason and Miya go to daycare and Brook and I stay home together for the next week then she can go to daycare and I can get back to work." I let Zak know. "Well then we have to wait a week to do the investigastion?" He asked  "Well I would like to go." I said "Yeah it would be nice to have everyone there to." Aaron butted in. "Yeah, ok we will wait but while your home and not doing things with Brook could you do the work your backed up on?" Zak asked "Yeah, I will try not making any promises with what I have to do here." I said to him. He nodded and walked  out side. "So did you and Brook have a good time together?" I asked Aaron. "Yes I enjoyed it alot, I just cant believe that she is mine." He said "Yeah I know thats what I said about the twins." I said "Well, I have to get going, I got to get to the office and do some work for Zak on the place we are investigating." I grabbed Brook from him, "Alright, She needs a nap and I need to get started on some work to." I hugged Aaron and he left I changed Brook and Put her for a nap and started working on the stuff I didnt do from last week. "Hey babe, ill be back. Im going to go check something. I told the twins not to outside and stay in here."  he said "Alright, I'll be here working and taking care of the kids." I said and he left. I wonder what he is going to do. He usaually tells me were he is going. I continued to work about 30 minutes later Zak came in and told me to come out side. "What?" I said "Come here I want to show you something." he said. I walked out side and I didnt know what to exspect. Zak cover my eyes and when we got to the car he uncovered them. It was a dog. "Nope, no, Take him her back." He looked at me "Why?" He asked "We were suppost to go together not one of us pick one." I said "Well I wanted to surprise you and the kids." He explained "Well, I am surprised but I wanted to help pick it out babe." I said "Im sorry, Maybe the next dog you can pick out." "Oh, no. We are not getting another dog. I dont even want this one." I said "What why not? Do you not like dogs?" He asked "I know, I know. I should get to know him/her. and no I love animals I just want to pick it out with you." I explained  "Ok, and im sorry I will bring him back and then tomorrow after work we will go find one." He said "Ok, thank you." We kissed and then he left to take the dog back. I went back inside to find Mason and Miya fighing and Brook screaming from up in her room. "You two knock it off. Go to your rooms and sit on your beds for  little. I walked upstairs to get Brook. I changed her and brought her down to feed her. Zak came back a couple minutes later. "Ok, the dog is back." he said "Ok, Tommorow we are still going right?" I asked "Yeah, After I get home from work. and were are the kids?" He asked "They are on thier beds. when you left I walked in and they were fight and Brook was screaming so I told them to go to thier rooms." "Oh ok, im going to go take a shower ill be back down." I nodded and contiued with Brook and started dinner. By the time dinner was done Zak was out of the shower and watching tv. "Dinner is done!" I shouted so the twins would hear me. They came running done. I got there plates ready and set them on the table. "So me and mommy might have a suprise for you tomorrow." Zak said "What is it?" Mason asked "you will find out tomorrow." I said "Why? I want to know now." Miya wined "No wining, and Like mom said you will find out tomorrow." Zak said. "Ok," they moaned We were all done with dinner. I cleaned the kitchen while Zak gave the kids a bath and put them to bed. I changed Brook and put her down to bed as well. Zak locked the house up and we headed up to bed. We turned on the tv and watched a movie and fell asleep cuddling. The next morning I woke up Zak and the kids. I got Mason dressed and Miya and did her hair. Zak took forever to do his hair like usual. Whe he was done I gave him a kiss and got the kids into the car. Since Brook came into the family I had to get a bigger car and Zak kept his nice one. I got a Mini van and he got the dodge challenger. I dropped the kids off at daycare and for some reason Ijust wanted to look at the animals. I took Brook out and walked in. They were all barking it kinda scared her and she started to cry. She started to settle down, I looked over and I saw a little puppy. She was white with some black spots and one around the eye, She was adorable. I had to call Zak. "Hello." He said, I called his work phone, im not saved in that phone. "Hey hun. do you think you could go on your lunch break so you can come to the animal shelter and look at this dog. she is adorable." It went quiet for a moment. "Sure, ill be there in a minute." he said "alright see ya soon love ya." "love ya to." Within 30 minutes Zak was down at the shelter. I pointed out the dog "That one with all white." I said "She is cute, and she is a puppy so she will be great with the kids." He said "Yeah, can we get her.. please??" I said, he thought about it for a moment "Yes we can." "Yaayy!!" I sounded like a kid. Zak did the paper work and did all the talking. Me and Brook were waitin for him to come out. "Ok, she is ours." he said walking out the door. "Yay." I said "What are we going to name her?" He asked "ummm, I dont know I was hoping you had a name." I said "How about Gracie." He said "Sounds good." I said "Ok, well I got to go back to work so you got to take the dog home." He said He put the dog in the back and I put Brook in the car seat. I was afriad the dog was going to hurt Brook so I put her in front and strapped her in the front seat. I drove home, I grabbed Brook and brought her in first and put her in her basinet for a minute while I grabbed Gracie. Gracie walked around for a little bit, she walked up stairs then downstairs then laid down. I thought she would of been more hyper. Zak came home with the kids around 3:30. They saw Gracie and went nuts. "Whats his name?" Miya asked "Its a she, and her name is Gracie." Zak said "She is cute, can we take her outside?" Mason said "Yeah, here is her first toy." Zak went outside with them so they didnt go ner the pool, We should really get a gate. When the kids were done with playing with Gracie they came in and washed up for dinner. The kids ate and got washed up and pj then played with Gracie more. She was really good with them and im glade we got her. Zak and I put the kids to bed and then locked up the house. We brought Gracie upstairs and into the crate "Goodnite Gracie, and Welcome to the family girl." Zak said. "Im glade we got her, She is a great dog so far." I said "Well I thought a new house a new addition to the family." he said "good idea." I said he kissed me and then we cuddled to sleep.
