"What a sweet girl..." the lady began.
--------------

Seconds later, a middle aged woman with long black hair tied up in a ponytail appeared from behind a red curtain. "Eomeoni!" exclaimed the woman, quickly, yet gently grabbing her mother's hands away from Chae. She silently talked to her mother and led her behind the curtain, but the elderly widow remained silent, just staring off into space.

A moment passed and the daughter from before came back through the thick red curtain.

"Mannaseo bangapseumnida! My name is Ae-Ri! I'm terribly sorry about my mother, she is quite ill. You see she begged to come to work with me today for some strange reason, and I told her to stay behind in the back room. Anyway, is there anything you are looking for, or I could interest you in?"

Chae stood silent, then finally wiped the still remaining water near her eyes. "Is there anything you would recommend?"

Ae-Ri thought for a second, biting her lip. Chae couldn't help but notice the incredible resemblance Ae-Ri had with her mother. The same striking black eyes and glowing long hair.

"Actually there is something I think you might like." Ae-Ri said, quickly kneeling down to reach for something in one of the counter cabinets.

"I actually didn't intend on selling this, but I feel like my mother would want you to have it." Ae-Ri pulled out a small black velvet box and layed it gently on the counter. She opened it, revealing a beautiful silver bracelet. It was the same style as the delicate rings from before, but not quite the same. It had, like the rings, twisting vines made from gleaming silver and decorated with tiny white diamonds, but had small rose gold rosebuds along the edges of the bracelet. Also, instead of creating a heart in the front like the rings, there were regular thin lines of silver.

Ae-Ri motioned to the straight silver lines, "My mom made this after my father passed away. She wanted to incorporate my dad's wedding ring design onto another piece of jewelry. She called it a wishing bracelet, telling all of my siblings and I that if your name is wired on the bracelet, you can use it to ask for wishes."

"She also said the wishes only worked if the bracelet thought your wish was completely pure and caused only good. If you would like to buy it, I would gladly wire your name in the silver for no extra cost."

Chae stared at the bracelet with wide eyes, it was incredible, even though it was half finished.

"I-" Chae began, but was interrupted by Kira who was approaching the two holding a small red box. Not noticing Chae's soft spoken words, Kira placed her item carefully on the wooden counter.

"Excuse me, could I purchase this necklace please?" Kira asked with a smile.

Ae-Ri nodded, "Of course, right this way." she motioned to the cash register a little farther down the counter. Kira walked towards the cash register with Ae-Ri following on the other side of the counter. "Think about it and let me know what you decide." Ae-Ri said with a grin.

Chaeyoung nodded and gazed back at the bracelet when she was alone.

She knew she had to buy it. Chae felt some sort of connection with the silver band, something that reminded her of her short time with Ae-Ri's mother.
